The price it is at now (approx $300) seems pretty reasonable to me, I bought one originally for $250, sold it for $600 then ended up regretting letting it go and got one through CARC when they offered them with $500 purchases. One of the few decks I think is worth a few hundred dollers
I’ve been at this a long time. And I’m tired.

I would not pay more than $50 for that deck maybe $75 and i think that's crazy. But like i always say a deck is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Glad to see those high prices for the people that sell them.

In my opinion that card back is the most elegant and I don't know if I should say this in the same sentence, but most sophisticated also for a minimalist deck as well as that tuck.

Hey, if it makes someone happy to pay $100, $300 or $1,000 for a deck I say we let them. Even if it isn't mine. ;)
Yes, I might be the guy you remember from that thing at that place way back when.

As we have said many times, and even I have been astonished here lately "a deck is worth exactly what someone will pay for it", and that's a fact. This specific deck has one thing going for it like almost no other except for Bund18 & one or two others (Stranger & Stranger gilded presentation set) - never sold to the public. Even the OG MailChimp fits in that category, except for ebay.com, it's never been sold.

Funny I was at work when I wrote my post and was thinking about Gamesters being really close to perfect as a minimalist card back also and was going to give you a mention, but I had to walk away from my desk and was leaving so I just hit submit and left. Now you come in afterwards to comment and I feel bad I didn't. I also have the Gamesters Limited Ed. boxed set.

I've seen Whispering Imps decks on eBay for outrageous prices...except for one case in particular, I can't really imagine they are actually being sold for those prices on a regular basis. You're right though Mike, a deck is worth what people will pay. The Blaine Microsoft deck is a great deck...and hard to come by for sure.

It's funny to see "Buy It Now" prices on eBay for some items...most of which would never sell for that price. That's just perceived value created by the ebay seller. The true value of a deck, I would argue, would be what it goes for in an actual auction setting. Start at 0 and let people bid....

For me personally, I know what the value of a deck is to myself, and I wouldn't want to make less money than that when I was trying to sell it.
The Microsoft deck is a perfect example, It was worth $250 to me, I wouldn't start a bid a $0 for fear I would get back less than what I value it at. I would start the bid at $250 (maybe $200, or a reasonably lower price within range of what the decks value is to me, just to appeal to more conservative buyers in the hopes that competative auction would still drive the price up into profit for me), because the point is to make money, not to establish a value standard for the market. Which ultimately establishes a value standard for the market.
I’ve been at this a long time. And I’m tired.

That is why you can set a reserve price to avoid selling short of your valued price.

That's the same thing, just without being transparent to your bidders about it, I don't see the point in not just telling people what the minimum expectation is.

For anyone interested. Conjuring Arts has these for sale.

Still 11 left. Not selling very quickly at that price. Yikes.
