Hey there everyone! I wanted to give you all a heads-up on Woodlands, the latest release from Penguin. These have already shipped as part of the August Card Club, but will be up for general sale tomorrow, which is Tuesday the 30th.

This deck holds 2 "firsts" for Penguin: it has our first sideways-opening tuck, and is our first deck on EPCC's Classic Finish.

The deck is gorgeous. This is Qiudi's first-ever deck, and she did a really cool nature theme throughout, with a deep green back design featuring stylized owls as the key element. The tree branch Ace of Spades is super awesome, and there are 2 custom jokers. The faces are the EPCC standard style, but with a completely new color and background texture on ALL the faces, not just the courts. The background pattern/texture is also on the back design, giving the cards a nice earthy off-white look.

Keep an eye out at Penguin tomorrow for the release. In the meantime, I've attached a few photos here.

Maybe I'm wrong but from the pics it looks like the back border color (white) is different from the front border color (off-white). If this is so, I wish the back borders were the same off-white as the faces.

Hey,
I got this deck in the card club and I really like it. The jokers and ace of spades have really nice artwork. I'm pretty sure the white is the same back and front, I would post pics and double check but I'm moving in a few days and already packed all my decks! Thanks for the great feedback so far. Color variance in the photos is due to the fact that they're different shots from Instagram, and I enjoy playing with the filters too much.

The cards themselves have the off-white background color/pattern in the faces as well as the border in the backs. The texture varies from card to card, but the off-white coloring is deck-wide. IE, we did not make white borders with off-white faces. I wouldn't have allowed such a thing!
