[Deck 1] Gottlieb Deck (Mind Control) - named after Sidney Gottlieb who was an American chemist and spymaster best known for his involvement with the C.I.A's mind control program, known as Project MKUltra, where he supervised experiments in mind control. Experiments on humans were intended to identify and develop drugs and procedures to be used in interrogations in order to weaken the individual and force confessions through mind control. [Deck 2] Faraday Deck (Spiritual Mysticism) - a fascinating deck dedicated to and designed around the forgotten art of the mysterious iconic Ouija board game. The deck is named after Michael Faraday was an English scientist who contributed to the study of electromagnetism and electro-chemistry. [KICKSTARTER COMPLETED]

[Deck 3] Gaddis Deck (Bermuda Triangle) - named after Vincent Hayes Gaddis, an American author who invented the phrase "Bermuda Triangle", which he used first in the cover article for the 1964 February issue of the magazine Argosy. For decades, the Atlantic Ocean’s fabled Bermuda Triangle has captured the human imagination with unexplained disappearances of ships, planes, and people. [KICKSTARTER CURRENTLY LIVE]

[Deck 4] Sangreal Deck (Sacred Bloodlines) - named after the new etymology for Old French san-graal (or san-gréal), meaning "Holy Grail," by writer John Hardyng and is based around the conspiracy theory that posits that much of what is known about the Bible is a deception created to suppress some secret, ancient truth. [Deck 5] Leary Deck (Psychedelic Research) - named after the American psychologist and writer known for advocating the exploration of the therapeutic potential of psychedelic drugs under controlled conditions. [Deck 6] Rhine Deck (Extrasensory Perception) - named after usually known as J. B. Rhine, an American botanist who founded parapsychology as a branch of psychology. Just please do your research on sourcing your cards and tucks so that you can do them at a reasonable price point for backers.

I honestly don't like the tucks, something about the colours reminds me of old Goosebumps books but not in a good way. But I'm really enjoying the artwork for the Gottlieb Deck and can definitely see myself picking it up. The others I'm more on the fence, and I usually don't like dark versions of decks like this, I don't think it ever looks good, but the next few decks could be very interesting indeed with the themes given and this is a series I'll be keeping an eye on.

In for the sci-fi heavy Gottlieb Deck for sure!! Not so sure about the dark editions though... perhaps just one more color on the faces than just the mystic purple and blue?

Short story is I'm planning 2-3 campaigns spread throughout 2020 which will each present either 2 or 3 decks per campaign and also the more limited gilded editions of those decks. Ideally I would have preferred to do a similar campaign run like the Vanda Planets series and do each deck one at a time, one after another, but sadly Kickstarter are not allowing this facility for me and I am only able to launch a campaign as the fulfilment of a previous one begins. The first of the series will have a total of six decks covering a wide range of themes and topics as described in the description above.

I like that series. I'm just curious why none of these have launched as a kickstarter project yet. The artwork for 5 of 6 is complete and 2020 has only 8 month left.

haha yes it does, sadaly, the situation with COVID-19 - seeing as everything came to a standstill which effects manufacture and postaI services etc. I thought we might as well finish up the whole designs as much as possible then just go for the KS campiagns one after another when it starts to calm down a bit which it is now so will start prepping the KS campiagns in the coming month while doing the last deck and hopefully can create a run between June/July up to December on these. Also the designs being out the way means I can focus 100% on the campaigns rather then do both at the same time. Should just be able to do it (I hope!)

Same here, the backs look pretty bland compared to the faces. Eventually, it all comes down to whether the theme of the back works for you.

The monochrome back designs kinda ruin it for me. It's the most important aspect of a deck in my eyes, and they don't match the boxes and courts in vibrancy or contrast at all.
