I was just about to share this. Very well designed project, artwork is sweet. Cool to see more and more concepts from the packaging industry come to the playing cards world. While I personally couldn't care less since I've been there, seen that, I think a lot of collectors like this kinda stuff for display reasons. For me it just adds costs, waste and adds no value for me personally.
The artwork is nice but as always for me, too many versions make me move on without opening my wallet quick. Especially when a multitude uses the πŸ₯± diffraction foil effect. Nothing screams more classic and renaissance than rainbows, eh? I hope playing card creators end this every deck has to look like shiny pokΓ©mon cards trend sooner than later.

Big kudos for not using the buzz term holo(graphic) once in the campaign. Finally at least one creator that doesn't use wrong terms for their tech πŸ‘ŒπŸΏ.

A pity for the tucks that they will be unseen though...

Is it me, or is this the most confusing set of pledge tiers ever? I love the cards, just am not sure which ones I am buying...

I really liked the one set of cards, but the big packaging seems so unnecessary. Like maybe it's me but despite liking two of the decks I'm not backing this because I don't know what I'd do with it.. like these big display boxes don't fit nicely with other decks lol

I’m really confused by the pledging system. I really like the Kinghood cards, but I’m not too interested in the Kingdom cards. There is no way that I can see to just pledge for all the Kinghood sets, without also having to get the Kingdom sets. :?

I'm currently in for one of the 4x1, but still debating dropping. I honestly don't know how I'm going to store these. I left a comment on the pre-launch page and there is no difference in the art between the holo/standard versions. They also said in the comments that they will not be offering the decks by themselves, and there is no way to mix and match them.

Thanks for sharing this Harvonsgard. I really liked the Kingdom Black Pearl edition, so I pledged for that one. This has to be the most confusing KS since the Origins series though. I like the box, but in the end, I don't really care as I will take the decks out to display though. I think there should have been options for decks w/o the outer box, and there is no way to own the Black Pearl Kingdom and Kinghood decks together unless you get to the much higher pledge level.
I haven't slept for ten days, because that would be too long.

An update from the KS:

We also received messages from some customers asking the following questions:

1. Some backers want to buy additional box sets separately. So we have added a small number of boxsets in the add-on section for you to buy. If you want to get one, you can manage your add-ons.

2. Some backers want to buy decks of playing cards separately. We are now discussing the possibilities of launching a single deck. We will inform you as soon as we make the decision.

3. As the project has achieved over 2000% Funded, we have unlocked the stretch goal: the Deluxe Version Boxset. The details of the product will be announced soon. Please stay tuned.

Clearly they did something right based on how successful this KS is but I agree. Why on earth didn't they have a pledge for just the decks? I collect playing cards and could give 2 poops about fancy boxes.
Either way, great artwork but I'm all set with these. Seems like a collab between VXD & Alex Chin. Which isn't a bad thing but there's nothing that screams, "gotta have this!" to me.

I have read through the campaign a couple of times, maybe I am a bit slow, but I have no idea how many different decks there are. Silver, gold, black, white?, red?, blue?, ???

This campaign is just too dang confusing. And, they are thinking of launching a single deck? Which one? Or, will it be a new deck?

No clue. My understanding is that there are 4 variations of 2 decks (Kingdom and kinghood), each set has white and black version, and then there is a holo set and a non-holo set.

Not counting the as at unreleased deluxe editions, there are two box sets available for the Kingdom and Kinghood decks. Each has a "standard" white edition with a red and a blue deck inside the box, and these each come in either gold or silver, although there is very little difference between these, so I would count them as identical for collection purposes. There is also a "Black Pearl" edition for each set which has a white and black deck in the box featuring diffraction foil on the cards.

So, basically, Kingdom (standard (gold/silver) & Black Pearl) and Kinghood (standard (gold/silver) & Black Pearl).
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Dropped my pledge on this one. Way way way too many options and far more about the packaging than the decks. Has become an easy pass.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel this is a rip-off of Alex's 2017 NPCCD deck (the back, the tuck and sleeve)? Yeah, its a little different, but I immediately thought of Alex's deck when I first saw this one. TCC is known to have copied other designs by Alex...their Luxury Sword is a copy of Alex's Elixir Colored Prototypes for one.

This is why I have come up with a new name for TCC...The Copycat Company...fits their acryonym well, I think 8-)

I couldn't find anything on the KS page that says TCC but it wouldn't suprise me if they are somehow involved. I am completely anti-TCC after a few horrible experiences with them so even more glad I dropped my pledge just in case TCC are actually involved. I also found this nuggest buried in comment response:
Kingdom Classic printed by USPCC

Kinghood Classic printed by TWPCC

Kingdom & Kinghood Black Pearl printed by APPC (ARK Playing Card Co.)

I am not 100% positive that it is TCC, but TCC has used multiple alias for various KS projects and if you look at the past projects by the Artisan Group, all the decks are related in someway to TCC and have been exclusively released by TCC in China with the most obvious connection, the Bicycle TCC Rainbow campaign

I assume that would be including the four "deluxe" editions. That would also depend on whether you consider the gold and silver classic sets to be separate sets for the purpose of collecting; I wouldn't since they are all but identical, but some might. So, if you count the gold and silver classic sets of both Kingdom and Kinghood, the Black Pearl editions, and the four deluxe editions, you are probably looking at around $900, but that is ten box sets, four of which are gilded and are limited to 100 of each.

The difference between the gold and silver sets is so minuscule, I just don't see any reason for it other than getting more money out of completionists.
