Thanks for the great pictures.
I'd like to get this one, but the shipping costs $16... I'm torn.

If you want them mainly for the art, they're worth it -- if you want them for cardistry, the handling is a little below par

Thanks, I can see the edges of the card in the photo and the cutting doesn't look great. I like it better when it handles well as a card, but I don't mind if it's just art.

The shipping pushes the price pretty high, still, had it not been a pricey month I would have picked up a pair already, and just hoping they last long enough for my inevitable purchase to go smoothly…

I ended up buying it. It has a bit of the uzuips deck vibe I like. Come to think of it, I bought that deck from a private webshop after the kickstarter because of hsbc's picture.

these look really fun! however, with the uptake of another hobby and purchasing a motorcycle about a week and a half ago along with all of the gear and accessories that go along with it, card purchasing has dropped way down. also, oddly, as much as some stay away from kickstarter like the plague, i pretty much buy from kickstarter alone and have a hard time getting the motivation to go to other sites and purchase.

Re: Medieval Animals Playing Cards by Hana Berggren
My deck has arrived. When I buy something from a private store, I look forward to the message card and other such items. On the back of the mushroom business card attached to the back of the box was a message in Japanese. I really like this kind of thing!
I bought one bundle that included a zine and stickers. I was interested in the artwork, so I was glad to get it, even though it is just a zine of two closed sheets of paper.
A photo of the card has been uploaded by hsbc for a quick handling evaluation. approx.
The 52 cards weigh 95.65g and are 16.17mm thick; they are thick but feel quite soft. Edge cutting is rough, probably from the back (modern cut), but the faro shuffle goes in well from the bottom. Well, it can be done from either side.
The fan spread is a little uneven, but I think this is due to the roughness of the edges, so it may get better after a while of use.
Registration is not great, it's a little off center. Handling is not as good as uspcc or cartamundi, but personally it exceeded my expectations.
PS: I shuffled it around for a while, but the fan is not smooth, worse than initial condition. Even the pressure fan is not good....Perhaps it may need to be smoothed with fanning powder.
Faro goes in nicely.
