Yes, the first less rounded nose does not attract my gaze as much when upside down :ucstar:

Sorry! I haven't posted in while, commissioned work has been manic. Here is a rough sketch for the AoH :) I have an idea for the AoD where the two sides fight for whose neck will be under the guillotine! But maybe it's too dark ahah. I'll try anyway. Thank you all again for your feedbacks!

Hello everybody :) ! I am sorry I have been radio silent until now, but the summer now means that the commission work is less crazy, so I finally have had some time to get back to the drawing board for About Face! The Aces are almost finished, and after that, I will just have the jokers to re-design! I thought I'd share the sketch I made for the AoD. Let me know what you think! all the best, Mathilde. (don't forget to rotate the image, to see the other character ;) )

I wonder whether the boys legs could not be reworked so that they are less noticeable when we rotate to the bishop

Hey :) some more progress - here are the mockups for 3 out of the 4 aces! (I now want to rework the AoS

- @honeybee thanks for your feedback! I did do quite a few options, but my issue is that I always need to have one of the characters either really small or on their knees: that allows for the reversible face to be not to tiny (which is more challenging when done full bodied) - I do appriciate that they look like funny antenna from the bishops point of view - but hopefully you'll forgive me :) Aldo the AoH is also on his knees, so I wanted a more dynamic pose, so they are not too alike if that makes sense.

You have a lovely art style! The light blue outline might look a bit faint when printed, did you try experimenting with a bit darker shade of blue or perhaps black?

Hi :) Thanks for your comment and kind words! I would like a slightly darker blue indeed! I have been struggling with the CMYK colour space in which Blues are the trickiest to print!. I am not sure I would want black however, as I want to reference this type of cards :

Great to see this project moving on. I’ll stop visiting this thread though; to not get every card spoiled ✌🏿😃.
You want to reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash that’s being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world.
