They do have enough of an honest reveal at the bottom - though honestly I would never buy such a conversion from stock art, the bar here is honesty.

So, I hope that he had this up from the get go, and not newly added once spotted…

You rushed to do some online image search but forgot to research the project itself properly.

You are doing your own credibility a disservice with a post like this, providing screenshot 'evidence' that Hòa Phan has yet again stolen his artwork. You should have spent a couple more minutes on the project page and you would have seen that they declared this fair use of third party artwork right from the start.

Now, you may not be a fan of this approach, but that does not mean that you should do posts like this, leaving others assuming something that it is not.

I tend to shy away from black cards on white stock, but regardless I avoid Hoa Phan like the plague, no pun intended.

In all seriousness, if holo foil is done right, I'm all for it. Most of the time, it looks too tacky for me.

Yeah I am mustering all self-restraint to avoid backing, not purely out of prejudice to the creator, but just avoiding new decks in general.

Manufactured by Unicool Games and MPC, maybe the stock will be disappointing.

The latest variants, Holographite & Obsidian never showed up on retail either. I backed out of the project due to it being the first to be printed by WJPC and bought an older Cartamundi version instead.

I had googled about the US right before I posted my comment.

I don't know how effectively the FTC enforces the mandate, but apparently the CAN-SPAM Act, appropriately named, requires an unsubscribe link for all commercial emails. You can be penalized if you don't.

So I backed the holo version, which after a long delay has been revealed not to be holo.

The manufacturer explained this as being due to the differences between cold printing and hot stamping techniques.“

Yeah, that’s not “15%,” it’s just not holo. I asked for a refund. We’ll see how that goes.

I backed The Vintage, only to ask if there is any foiling on the cards, which they answered no. Which I think is not common to have gilding but not foiling. I think they just don't have the foiling capability at their manufacturer.

Its pretty common, I see a lot of gilded decks that are just inks on the faces/backs.

Very different processes, foil is printed, gilding is a post printing operation.

Id bet the percentage of producers who have prototypes for kickstarters is pretty low, especially now with all the image generation tools.

the flip side is when they use actual production samples and people get mad at them for not really needing the kickstarter because the print run already started/happened.

Yeah, I know. I was just getting into this scene last summer, so I didn’t know much about the different artists and what their reputations were. You live you learn.

Let's be fair, most of these are just general issues that happens with almost any creator out there.

Honestly though, I only ever discover their projects when it is posted here, mostly with mocking remarks. And sometimes I get attracted too. Any publicity is good publicity.

In my opinion, it's best we pretend that TPCC never exist, so that newbies won't fall into the same encounter we had.

And, I can probably guess, TPCC only stands because of the same people who keeps returning to their campaigns over and over.
