Yokai Parade Playing Cards by Musée 52 (TCC)

Unread post by KGthePrince »

Coming soon. No Kickstarter link yet. Looks to be the same AI influenced art style from TCC's Ancient Relics.

I can never tell these campaigns apart from one another. Too busy for me too.

With every release TCC feels more and more like a gimmick brand. Every kickstarter is a variant of some AI art holofoil deck like Kev said. And they release so many standard variants. This campaign has 5! If you want the exclusive gilded variants, you have to buy the collector's boxset (another 5 decks).

I know some of my faves like JBP have campaigns with many variants, but I'll always support someone who's putting hundreds of hours into their art as opposed to feeding chat gpt reference pics and a few prompts.

I really like the artist series from Musée 52. Classic works of art with great foiling. Would love to see more of those instead of the AI inspired art of this and the last deck.

I spent much of the last year sucking up pretty much everything TCC did, but the last I dunno 3? desks I've gotten from them have failed to please me

The foiling on the constellation deck was..barely visible on most of the decks I opened (and I bought all of them).

Much of the same with "Morpho" (butterflies) on 3 of the 4.

Ancient relics was...ok but the art could hav been clearer.

The Alabaster campaign that ended today I did back, but about half as many decks as I would have bought before (largely because of something thats been suggested, having to buy something I dont want to get gilded editions).

Kinda agree on the constellations deck. It was visible for me but not as dramatic as the campaign suggested. Fully disagree on the Morpho deck though. The one I got was spectacular.

At this rate, TCC along with Room One are the new "Riffle Shuffle" of today
And they don't hold back their punches - releasing multiple decks, AGAIN!

Which one did you get? if it was the purple one I understand completely. I looked back at what I said in the original campaign and that was the only one I thought they put any effort into and it came through on the foiling as well. I haven't opened the other two (pink and ?) but the red deck you can barely see the foiling on the backs.

Ditto on the Sapphire one. Very happy with that one. I mentioned in that discussion that I think doing them all in that style was a missed opportunity.
