Shipping to the US from Germany via DHL is also mostly paused till further notice. Packages below 100$ are accepted only as gifts. You can however send everything up to 1000€ via DHL Express, which costs around 85€ for the smallest package (0,5kg) with proper insurance
The only other service available in my area would be UPS which I never used before. While calculating costs on their site they required a Social Security number from the receipient before showing me a total. Guess I'd have to add the receipients CV in the next step, maybe even their shoe size :ugthink:

Yes all Private Companies are only taking packages via Express mode here which is like the most expensive method . Also pretty much all of them are upfront that a tariff might be charged which they wont be liable and if not paid they wont deliver

Bit annoyed by Cardtopia / USPCC.

I ordered a deck from them and canceled within the next two hours. Their website states:
To cancel or change your order, please contact us at support@cardtopia.com within one hour of placing the order. Requests received after one hour are not guaranteed cancellation prior to shipment.
I realize this put me in a position where they "could not guarantee cancellation." They didn't respond to me until an entire week later, after the item had already shipped, stating that I could return it but would have to pay for the return shipping.

Today, the package arrived and for the first time ever in my life, I was asked to pay $16 to accept the package. This may be the tariffs but the item was shipped from Kentucky, so this is USPCC/Cardtopia shifting the cost to the consumer in a way that was not transparent. Had the $16 shipping fee been disclosed at time of checkout, that could have swayed my decision making. They probably know that but this solution was unacceptable.

To add salt to the wound, the item was freely moving in the shipping box. Thankfully, it did not appear to be damaged.

" I was asked to pay $16 to accept the package."

That's wild. States don't charge tariffs on one another. What did they call this fee?
Looking to buy (DM me if selling please!):

That's pretty messed up. I would contact them asking for a refund for that shipping charge.

You got the anniversary set. That should’ve qualified for free shipping, so I’m assuming you didn’t pay when you checked out? You should definitely ask for a refund for that.

Supreme Court just tossed the reciprocal tarrifs.

“The decision does not affect all of Trump's tariffs, leaving in place ones he imposed on steel and aluminum using different laws, for example. But it upends his tariffs in two categories. One is country-by-country or “reciprocal” tariffs, which range from 34% for China to a 10% baseline for the rest of the world. The other is a 25% tariff Trump imposed on some goods from Canada, China and Mexico for what the administration said was their failure to curb the flow of fentanyl.”

They're just going to re-impose tariffs under another law... the ride is far from over

Most likely, but other avenues for tariffs have more limitations and time limits than the unchecked power previously asserted. And lots more litigation to come.
