Hopefully with the 25% increase in the back design, the markings will be easier to read. Have you gotten your cards and found that not to be the case?
I think there's a fine line between a marked deck being easy to read and for it to remain inconspicuous to the uninitiated eye.
I dropped my pledge for this campaign after the money-grabbing tactics were obliged by the creator.

It was difficult enough to read the marking system on Mint 1. The foiled deck looks impossible to do so.

The foiled decks actually are not marked. I haven't gotten my cards yet but I do hope that they will be easier to read this time around.
By "money-grabbing tactics" do you mean his claim that the decks will be worth more money in the future? If it was up to me I would have opted that he didn't use that claim as well, but I do feel that Asad did throw in a few goodies like a free deck for pledging the first day, free gaff pack, and free mint (candy) as shown in a youtube review.

What's the point of a Mint deck that isn't marked? That's an even WORSE cash grab!

I've pretty much exhausted my opinions on this project. I just saw the video and was bothered by the seemingly unreadable design. I guess it doesn't matter if it's not marked. The deck doesn't matter AT ALL IMO.

What is interesting is that throughout the whole review he is only showing the backs but not the card faces.

The creator also had a habit of releasing audio-only updates on Kickstarter... very strange

I'm pretty excited to see the Frost Foil in person :D And to see what's in the gaff pack!

Cool, I was starting to think something was wrong with my taste! I've got a few hundred decks under my belt.. maybe when I have thousands I'll change my mind

I'm looking forward to getting my bundle of rewards, and I do anticipate liking these, but at the same time, I'm guessing these will be the last of this kind of project I'm likely to back. No regrets, but no need to keep returning to this particular well, either.

I still really like them, though, I just don't know if I'll be able to recoup any of the pledge amount after the campaign by selling the extras. I'm not looking to make large profit, basically just cover what I spent on them while making other collectors happy. However, there's no point in getting extras if the people who really want them will already get them.
Will you be selling any through UC?

I just received my Mint haul. Included in the pack was a limited Frosted Mint in a pretty carat case, with number 11 of 3144. :ugdance:

I chalk it up to clean living  Probably more like buying so dang many limited decks that I am bound to get lucky a few times.

"Limited" 3144.

When Ellusionist and Theory11 were the only games in town, "5,000" was limited. Now, not really...

I guess the understanding of the word limited is limited.

The Heretic decks were released in higher numbers with seals. They used to be more available, but they aren’t showing up as much on eBay now and commanding a fairly steep price. Given Assad’s fan base, these may still carry some resale value. In my case, I just love foil, not that I will open the deck.

3,144 isn't really "limited" nowadays. Most people here would tell you that.

Minimum print runs (i.e. 1000 by USPCC) are truly limited.

Technically, anything with a finite production number is "limited". We're not going by Webster's English dictionary here. We're going by playing card standards...

It is...

I get that you advertising the idea that "limited" means nothing until it is a pretty low number, which I totally agree on. "Limited" has - in most cases - just become another marketing buzzword.

When I started collecting playing cards I was confused, since I thought limited meant having restricted ability or talents...

Not under the context of modern playing cards, though.

Currently working on an epic review of these including Interview in person with Asad himself. It's a long one.

I know you're too nice a guy, but if you harassed him with questions about things like his advertisement of "limited deck resale value", you'd be the 1st channel I follow on YouTube.

Yeah, pumping in to the resale frenzy and mark up I don't care for at all.

Design wise, I'm not even sure why everyone is so crazy about these. The KS totals for these decks are crazy! I just don't get it.

Basically standard courts, boring back (I know its marked), just recolors. How does this deck fetch those prices for something so basic?

For me it was quality and price. I spent an average of $15.75 per deck for custom, blinged, foiled, USPCC decks. No brainer.

Meaning more of the aftermarket pricing and craze for them. 50 bucks for just basic and plain.

I'd go as far to say Bill Davis pig lover had more art design than these lol. This is just a stylized crooked hashtag #.
