So excited for this!!! But what about the Independence deck? Would it be possible to get gilded edges on those? Or the upcoming military series of playing cards? Just curious :)
As Tom noted, he got them to agree to do a gross (dozen dozen or shipping case of 144 decks), so it's entirely possible that he can! The military decks are going to be printed by Expert PCC, though...
Oh, I didn't realize the military decks are going to be printed by EPCC. Will they still be launching in Kickstarter?

Silly mike spreading rumors :)

The military and independence decks will be printed USPCC for sure. I can't print a Marine deck in China. However The Hive will / IS being printed by EPCC.

I was thinking that'd be a deal breaker for me having the military decks printed outside the US. Thanks for squashing that rumor right quick Jackson. I mean yeah the expert card co does some nice decks, but we're talking American pride here. 'Murica, hells yeah and all that. It'd be just as bad as hanging an American flag up with a "made in China" tag on it.

Im in for the SL11 tier, but im not sure if im gonna keep it. There are some images on in the deck that simply dont look right and i dont quite connect with the theme. Jackson if you are listening, the latest joker and the court before that really needs some tweaking.

What other images are you talking about? And Sure I'm gonna fix the perspective on the sword of the Joker Britannia. And what do you mean by "Don't Look right" thats not really a spring board for improvement.

Ok jackson if you dont mind, ill just post what i think here. Note: I have no idea what jackson is basing the images off, im just saying what i think can make them look more natural/better

1st image:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/ksr/assets/001/833/414/847c95aa1886a13f895178bffb88935f_large.jpg?1396551295

like you already noticed, the sword looks like a weird dagger. Also i think the lines at her forehead are a little too close making it look like shes under the weather. Her nose looks a little skewed to the right side. lastly her helmet looks a little like its floating off her head unless she has a ton of hair under the helmet :D

2nd image:
http://www.jacksonbrobinson.com/KS/IND/KoD.jpg

I dont quite know how to say this but it looks a little like his face is a little further out than one would expect and maybe a little due to the angle the face is facing as compared to the rest of the head.

Yea i think its these two that are bothering me a little. Its your call if you want to take a look at them, the other images look great ;)

As for most of my portaits and images they are pulled and inspired by either 18th centrury or other classical sculptures or paintings. As for lady Britannia she is historically pictured with a large corinthian style helmet worn very far back on her head.

Image

The dagger is def at a weird perspective an issue that I have already taken care of.

As for the portrait of Gage, that one is inspired by a very well know classical painting of him. I pul from historical elements and recreate them into my own style. As for his head position its accurate coming slightly off the front of his torso in line with the clavical bone and deltoids.

Image

tons of research goes into these image so Im both accurate to the time period but also the iconography of the elements & characters portraid. Thank you for your comments thought.

Real faces aren't symmetrical though. My nose/mouth do the same thing ;)

I like her look - being in a British Naval city I see Britannia's image all the time - and Jackson has captured her pretty well - even down to the androgynous facial features.

For what it's worth I agree - the top half of his head seems to face a different direction than the bottom half. But that's true in the original painting too...

Thanks Jackson for replying, like i first mentioned i dont really know much about these historical figures coming from somewhere with an entirely different history. Im just saying what looks slightly odd to me with no regards to accuracy.

Amazing news from jackson...

Special Surprise for all Limited Edition backers!

I wanted to save this little surprise until the very end of the campaign for all of you Limited Edition backers. Something I found with my previous Limited Edition decks is that hardly anyone would open the decks and enjoy the art I spent so much time creating. This is what led me to create the vellum covered wrapping that could be opened and closed again without having to break any seals. To go even further and add even more "bang for your buck" I will be including two "Display Decks" with each Limited Edition set. Display decks are simply an extra set of deck that have the EXACT same cards found in the Limited Edition versions but that come in basic, uncellophaned, white tuck cases that will have nothing but the Kings Wild Logo on the outside. The purpose of these Display decks is to give you a chance to enjoy the Limited Edition cards and artwork without having to open the Limited Edition version if you don't want to.

So to recap anyone who is pledging for a Limited Edition set of Independence cards will get two complimentary Display Decks to go with you LTD Set, one Continental and one Crown. If you are pledging for 2 LTD sets then you will receive a total 8 decks, 2 LTD sets and 2 sets of display decks. Thanks again for your support.

As we close in on the end of the project please post a link to the Kickstarter on your facebook, twitter and other social media sites. Here is the link to the KS page. Let's finish strong!

I read that these special Display Decks will be housed in basic white tuck cases...however, this last minute gift effectively doubles the number of Limited Edition cards that will be out there. Is anyone concerned this might depreciate (dilute) the rarity of our "limited to 1,000" Limited Edition decks?
best regards,

I'm amazed at how Jackson keeps going above and beyond for his customers/fans/followers. He's going to reap huge benefits from this in the long run, and he deserves all of it. The collectible playing card community has become richer because of him, and I can't wait to see all the great things he has in store for us in the future.

While this might be a valid concern, I think the integrity of the LE decks is preserved because what makes the deck limited is the whole package: the incredibly unique tuck box, vintage vellum wrapping, and the serially numbered deck seals. The display decks won't have any of those features. I love how Jackson keeps the collector in mind and I think this is an awesome idea and should be a new standard for people who produce limited custom decks.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about Jackson's amazing gift. But I wanted to explain sort of what I think is happening.

USPCC has set in stone the minimum of 2,500 decks no matter what. So naturally standard and LE have to be printed 2,500 times each, being different decks and all. I doubt they'd do a 1000 run even for Jackson. The Kickstarter LE will remain unique and rare because the surplus is getting a KW tuck intended for opening. I reckon that even after sending the gifts to the LE backers, there will still be a handful left of the KW edition. Which will be offered on his site for the non LE backers.

I feel it's a win for everybody. Since the ones who couldn't nab an LE deck during the campaign will still have a chance to own Jackson's beautiful deck, albeit slightly different. And the LE backers get to keep the awesome deck intact.

It's truly amazing how Jackson takes in consideration everyone's opinions.

No matter how you look at it this is win-win for everyone! Excellent idea to get the decks into our hands as opposed to "up on a shelf".

I agree but I doubt Jackson will try to sell the white box on his site, he will use the extra 500 to creat Force decks and such, possible damage replacements.
