I'm in for a half-brick, and really had a hard time not going for a brick of these; especially since it would have really lowered the per-deck price.
And while I'm slowly working on my own three decks (not as beautifully different from each other as the Omnia decks), I keep watching how other deck creators handle their pledge levels, early birds, and pricing to see what works best for the backers and deck creators.
So I have a question about the per-deck pricing of the tiers of this project, and what the thoughts were that went into them.
I too was there at the start of the campaign (just a little before 4:00 a.m. Pacific time), with 7 pledges ahead of me, and I was immediately looking for the best (most economical) way to get two of each of the three decks; because I like at least one deck to open and play with, and at least one of each deck to keep in collectible condition.
So I ended up grabbing the $88 Early Bird that will get me 2 Omnia Suprema, 2 Omnia Oscura and 2 Omnia Illumina; which works out to $14.66 per deck.
But I couldn't help noticing that those who only pledged $20, got their decks for $10 each, while those who pledged $130 for a full brick, got their decks for $10.83 per deck.
So I can't help wondering why the half-brick folks like myself had to pay so much more per deck than those at either end of the pledging spectrum?
As I've said before, I'm in, but I am curious (and kind of disappointed at the price I had to pay compared to others), but also wondering what the reasoning was behind this, and what backers feel about this kind of Early Bird disparity for when I get the chance to set up my own future Kickstarter project.
My logic tells me, that the more decks you pledge for, the lower your per-deck price should be; so in my way of thinking, if 12 decks is around $130 ($10.83 per deck), six decks might be around $70 ($11.66 per deck), and pairs might be around $25 ($12.50 per deck), and singles might be $13 per deck.
Do these thoughts make any sense to the Group-Mind here?

Will. I think you are painting only half of the picture as you are assuming all decks are equal when in fact they are not... You have to look at what you are getting when Supremas are involved. The early bird brick with no supremas gets you the deck at $9 a deck which is better than $10 and the regular brick price comes out at $9.8 so obviously you did not take that into account. A very limited decklike suprema has a value of about $20-22 so you can figure out the rest

Exactly what I was going to say, Pete. The Suprema Limited Edition decks are max 500 printed, each sells for around $20-$22 and the other two editions are not limited, selling for about $9-$10 a in quantity or $12-$13 for one or two.
No doubt the Early Bird Suprema bricks are the best value, but regular price on those is $144, or about $10 for the ten standard decks plus $22 for the pair of Suprema Limited Edition decks. It's like you didn't read the campaign, buddy - he explained it all very well.

Sorry guys I was taking a break
@Will Hart - Yes, like Mike and Pierre said, I usually lower the price per deck for higher rewards.
Only Omnia Suprema is an exception: there are just few tiers who includes two limited editions. I think those tiers are really valuable because are the only way to have 2 Omnia Suprema, that will be available probably only on Kickstarter (and if some Suprema will survive, I won't sell it at the Kickstarter price). Thank you very much, hope it makes sense (I'm a little tired, be patient)!
Guys we're almost at 16k - probably we'll unlock Omnia Illumina soon

Oh yea, the highlight of the campaign is definitely the suprema edition, limited to 500 +- some. EPCC has allowed Giovanni to go under the 1000 min run to achieve this.

Yep, I was thinking right, but must have had foiling on my mind. I won't fix it, but of course, $22k is already done (embossing all three deck tucks). $30k is printing inside all three tucks.
We are closing quickly on the first mystery stretch goal. Time for the reveal, as Tom points out...
