Especially considering you can get them direct from bicycle for $3.99, and you don't have to wait for Thursday for them to ship out.

I've read that rare Lego sets are perfectly acceptable currency in Black Market dealings and other unsavory circles.

This is quite true. I bought the giant Lego Eiffel Tower when it came out, it goes for around >500 last I checked. Wish I had bought 2 or more because it is a very beautiful set.

Odd thing is, if you look at his completed listings you'll see $10,000 on some (not all) of the Lego sets. But when you look into the Sold history you see the actual price was more in line with the value ($26, $27 for instance). Is this a bug in eBay? A hack for giggles?

Money laundering more likely...

It's most likely because the listing will lose it's ranking in the eBay search engine if they sell out and have to relist, so some sellers choose to up the price to a point no one will buy the item until it is back in stock and then lower the price again.

Thanks. I had to go look up money laundering in the dictionary until this ex-programmer knocked on the door selling magazines. (Man, did I have to buy a lot!)

I just found this Empire V1 deck of cards for $49.99 on eBay , but what amazes me is the shipping cost of $36.95 he is asking for from Florida. I sent a message to inform him of his error then I realized all of his items for sale had ridiculous shipping fees.

For Canadians, it's even more outrageous. Shipping is $46.84, plus another $10.70 for import charges. A total of a mere $107.53 for a single deck. Wow.
