Hello everyone! We're cardists and artists that design custom decks. We started very recently and are in the process of producing our first deck, a low-poly shark themed deck which is fitting because at the time of this post, it's shark week! My hobbies in my free time is card games, card collecting, some Magic, and recently I have taken an interest into Cardistry. Hello! I have collected Tarot and oracle decks for years. Recently, I began expanding to Lenormand and playing card decks. Look forward to finding new decks to purchase.

Interesting to discover that there are still those that mention my great grandfather’s name Samuel Murray founder of National Card. He grew up in poverty in Brooklyn NY and had to go to work at 10 years old to support the family.

My name is Gerhard from Berlin, Germany.
About two years ago my friend and I had a crazy idea about a deck of cards made from original tattoos.
Meaning, that all that you see on the card is actually tattooed on someone.
Sadly we didn't have 52 friends that crazy.
But after we got the tattooes of the first to cards on our own skin, there were enough tattoo artists interested in the whole thing.
Now, two years later the deck is done (except for the Joker) and we just started it on kickstarter.
Not a card collector myself I didn't even realize there is such a community.
Now I'm happy to have found you, because up till now the cards really were for just a few tattoo fans and the friends of our tattoo artists. (which by the way are from all over the world, that I like a lot about this project)
If you let me post the link to either my page or the kickstarter I would be so happy.
This is not a business. We are just wanting to finish this project and reach as many people as possible to make it happen.

Hi! I just found you guys while trying to find out if anybody has heard anything about a Kickstarter I backed awhile ago. But I'm very happy to have found you! I started collecting only a short time ago (about 2 years or so). I am currently working on my own deck/game but it's only a hobby so the artwork is taking some time.
I'll post them for feedback eventually, but after having read the many entertaining thread links under the Kickstarter blacklist thread, I'll make sure to put on my thick skin when I do.
I'm looking forward to learning from you all and being part of this community!

Hey everyone,

It's great to finally be here. I'm not sure what took me so long, seeing that I've already created two decks of playing cards. Honestly, being in Australia sometimes makes the distance feel extra real - geographically, but also creatively. Most of the playing card discourse, production, and collector culture seems so centred in the US or Europe; I feel like an outsider looking in. But I've finally decided to jump in and say hello, hoping to connect with others who love thoughtful, art-forward deck designs, and maybe even find a few folks who also feel a little out-of-place in the world of mass-market cards.

Looking forward to sharing some of my work soon, and learning from all the brilliant creators and collectors here
