Classy tuck. I too would like to see colored courts, aces, jokers, and pip layouts...you know, everything.

Looking fantastic!!
Also would like to see some color
As a side note: I do hope that you are not considering NPCC for these as you did for your Golden Age deck! The Golden Age deck is fantastic, one of the best in my collection, only diminished by the poor printer company.

This deck is really coming along and it looks great. I can't wait to see the suit of Diamonds. I really like the tuck box as well

I love this artwork, I beg you to consider a different printer though...
Cartamundi USPCC EPCC LPCC. just not NPCC. Artwork this good deserves higher quality printing that NPCC can provide.

The artwork is fantastic! I have to agree with a previous post about using a different card printer....

Hello to everyone!
This is the first card in color. And some close up.

Hm. I suspect others may have been envisioning a fuller palette when they were clamoring to see colors earlier, but I think preserving the lineart in as high a contrast as possible is the right way to go here. I would like to see her with a spot color - just one: I'm thinking a low-saturation, watercolor red-brown on the rose and scarf, perhaps painted in somewhat roughly.
I don't care for the skulls opposite the indices; I think drawing the eye to them when they've been used as a design element in so many other recent decks may turn people off. But I'm just anti-skull in general so I may be in the minority there.

Skulls feel a little random indeed, I agree with not having full color artwork, It looks really good as line work and adding too much color would really ruin that. That said the current choice of color makes it look a lot like currency, a dollar bill anyway.
Also agree with the random sugar skulls in the corners being very out of place. I like the idea of something being there and color wise its nice, but maybe something else?

Agree with comments. Skulls are random unless I am missing the theme entirely. Also I do not think that the font and suit markers match the feel of the rest of the card shown.
I am enormously impressed (as always) with your artwork, however, and the rest of the composition is spot on

Love the look of this! I really like the font and pip design myself. I also love that you are keeping the line art. I'm ambivalent about the skulls, but that pop of color in those corners is what I'm not sure about.

I would love to see some more color, but I am coming around. The line art is fantastic. I would hate for any coloration that would detract from it. I am fine with the skulls given the theme of the deck. I like that it is not the focal point of the deck.

The Mayan numerals are an excellent choice to take the place of the skulls in the previous versions! Well done.

I was wondering what those were. I also noticed those other numbers on the courts. I know they signify the start and the end of the Mexican War of Independence, but they do not allow the courts to be 2-way. I just don't think they belong there; I think it's just too much and would be better to remove them. Perhaps dedicate an "ad card" to commemorate the war by having a brief summary/description of the war?
If you don't intend on making the courts 2 way, may I suggest that you make the courts similar to "The House of the Rising Spade" courts, where instead of having 2 mirror images of the men and women of the courts you just draw the full bodies that occupy that same space.
Other than that, this is looking good!

I really like all illustrations, it looks great. I don't like the skulls and typography - I think this font is very rough and steals attention from delicate illustrations.

Hi, love your designs so far, love the color. Actually, I was fearing you would color the whole thing, which for me would have ruined the beautiful linework.
If I may, Spanish being my first language, I'd suggest you to add the diacritic mark on top of the "e" on "México". As in "Viva México", instead of "Viva Mexico". Just to be accurate.

I had been hoping for full color courts, but seeing the way you have handled the coloring here, I am truly impressed. Art & design-wise, this deck is really coming together.

Have you considered doing a standard and LE version with 1 of them as is and another in full color? Also are the courts based on any historical people or class of people in Mexico? It would really make the theme stronger if each court suit represented a class of people or on real people of that era.
I may be alone on this, but the Aces look tiny and lost amongst the artwork. Perhaps make them bigger?
Loved the Golden Age set, this one looks to be just as good

Hm. I don't like this back design at all. Using gold as the dominant color to balance out all the green on the faces is probably the correct move, but compared to the intricate linework in the courts all the negative space here looks empty and underutilized. The big script M also feels more like a logo or a brand than a reflection of the theme.
Do you have any rough-draft iterations of the back that we might be able to see? I saw a lot of work-in-progress shots of the faces here but nothing for the back.

I agree. The back design looks mismatched to the face of the cards. Some of that amazing scrollwork should be incorporated on the back as well. Digging the price points, though!

So, while I can appreciate the thematically cohesive color added to the borders of the Revolucion and Muertos editions, I can't help to ask, why not carry that over onto the tucks themselves to further strengthen the theme by denoting resemblance of the Mexican flag when all three editions are displayed side-by-side rather than just the borders of the cards from each deck?? Unless there's some specific reason why blue, brown, and black were chosen in particular for the tucks, this just seems like a missed opportunity and kinda random. IMO, replacing these colors with a deep, but slightly muted green and red, as well as an off-white on the tucks would give it a worn, antique look, which would suit well for the historical concept overall.

also, I agree that that back design feels very out of place and, with lacking so many of the amazing details as seen in comparison on the courts, the design feels almost like an afterthought - or that it belongs to another deck entirely.

Thank you all for your feedbacks! I'll try to do something with back design of cards. And here is some new colors and foils of tuck. It was difficult for me to say goodbye my lovely black tuck!)
