I love the design on this deck. The amout of work is phenomenal. Congrats Alex!

Now having 6 different "decks", or 24 if you count that you can get each deck gilded in each of the gilding options (Ruby, Topaz, and Holographic) - not sure if that is poissible, but from the description it seems it is - are way too many decks, sepecially because we can't choose the deck we want, it is a mystery deck so we get what Alex decided to send!
I sure hope that for next year the model will change, and Alex will just produce one or two decks, like for the 2016 NPCCD which for me was the best model; a more wide available green deck and a very limited pink. Still those decks were extremely limited, 500 if I'm not mistaken (400 green and 99 pink), so I think that you would gather more support if you do a less limited print run, a run of 1250 (1000 "unlimited" and 250 "limited") should be more than enough to keep Portfolio52 up and running. Just my 2cents...

Yes, and they don’t show up right away on their website. I need to get my log-on fixed too.

I read it as you will get one of each of the 6 different decks and tuck box colors. Between the 6 decks you will get each of the 3 gilding colors.

So 6 decks total with all possible options, but not all possible combinations.

All in all, there are six versions of the NPCCD decks:.
.
Astral Blue Tuck (Rooke) – Non-Gilded deck with blue filter on both sides.
.
Astral Clay Tuck (Bishop) – Non-Gilded deck with red filter on both sides.
.
Astral Purple Tuck (Pawn) – Non-Gilded deck with blue filter on front and red on back.
.
Astral White with Gold Tuck (King) – Gilded deck with red filter on both sides.
.
Astral White with Silver Tuck (Queen) – Gilded deck with blue filter on both sides.
.
Astral Midnight Tuck – Gilded deck with red filter on front and blue on back.

I got 1, ungilded. I'm dreading my CC bill this month and Gio's Betrayers drops in 4 hours. Plus Lotrek's blue DAMASK email sometime.

Ugh, kidney for sale.

Does this mean that those who chose to purchase a single deck with gilding would automatically receive a white or Midnight Tuck and those who opted for a non gilded deck deck would receive a Blue, Clay or Purple Tuck?

This would also mean that there are 500 of each gilded colour available?

I would also like to know if this is a possibility. Can you get the Astral Blue deck Topaz gilded for example?

I hope Alex can clarify a little more. I have read as much as I can find on these and still feel a little confused.

I hope it won't be like last year when no one knew exactly how many of each Tuck colour were available.

My take on this is that there are 6 total decks. Single decks can be purchased either regular or gilded (for an additional fee). When you buy the two deck set, it will be one regular deck and one gilded. All decks will be randomized, you cannot select which particular deck you want. Any deck can be regular or gilded, but you cannot customize the gilding color. And if you get the 6 deck set, all the decks will be gilded. I could be wrong with my take, but if you read the descriptions on his site at face value, this is what it means.

Sorry for the confusion guys! This is one of those decks that read SUPER easy in person like at the convention but once in photos is a bit more confusing.
Sinjin is right, there are 6 decks (one for each chess piece). Basically this started off as a 3 deck set to celebrate the 3rd anniversary. But when it started to dabble into the themes of Escher and chess pieces it made sense to me to have a gilded set as well. There are 3 gilded (the black and white decks) and 3 standard. They don't mix or match otherwise the matrix would be just wayyy too crazy even for me.
Basically my thought process on this was to have a "Red" deck theme, a "Blue" deck theme and a mixed "Red/Blue" (the objective view lol). But then I added the gilding to create a better choice matrix so that people could pick the options that fit them best. Standard pair, gilded pair, 3 pack (one of each "view), and then if they wanted all 6 to complete all 6 chess pieces. Silly me though was thinking a bit too rationally about it and didn't think at how heavy the demand would be to be all or nothing. So I basically just tried to make it same structure as last year in an attempt to make it easier. Mystery decks across the board but if you get a combo you can get 1 gilded and 1 standard while still getting the red + blue experience. I bought a full case of 3 packs thinking that was a normal option (what I would have opted for) and no one wanted them at all lol. But the 6 packs flew way faster than I thought.

Next year I'll adjust accordingly. It'll probably be a straight forward 4 pack for the 4th anniversary and it's a unit structure that I'm pretty familiar in handling :)

Just like last year, I purchased a deck to support Portfolio52. I love having that database. Wish I could do more to improve the platform.

Thanks man! Yeah I also wish I could do more to improve the platform lol. I don't know if it's a smart move but I'm going to migrate everything to GoDaddy which means way higher hosting fees but also 24/7 watch support which will be nice peace of mind. Honestly the biggest thing right now is trying to find a US developer that is cheap enough. This entire time has been overseas devs which are tough for communicating both in time zone and in language. You know ho when you go to the mechanic and you're not sure if the pricing and time is good or bad? That's how I feel with Ukranian devs.

I've done webdev work and GoDaddy has a pretty awful reputation to be honest. Check out this comparison table for some other companies to look into: https://reviewsignal.com/webhosting/compare" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; :D

So my last post was correct :?:
Still a little confused.

I'm aware there are 6 decks with different coloured tucks.

I'm presuming all the cards inside are the same.

What I'm unsure of is:

A) Are ONLY the White (Silver & Gold) & Black decks gilded :?:
Meaning that if someone purchased a Single deck with the gilding option they would receive one of these 3 decks by default.
& Those who opted for a non gilded deck would receive one of the other coloured decks.

In other words there aren't going to be any Blue, Clay or Purple decks gilded at all.

B) Are ALL the White (Silver & Gold) & Black decks gilded :?:
Or is it possible someone could receive a White Gold deck for example without Gilding.

Alex, Please can you shed a little more light on this to satisfy my simple mind. Thanks :D

Maybe you can some on Will's website? I got my 2015, 2016 & 2017 club deck from him (the 2017 club deck is so beautiful). But, we need to wait for him to put them on the rack.

Crap, I should've bought more than 2. I should've known that some non-members here would want a few.

Brad - Did you buy any extras?

If you're a member of the 52+ Joker Club, and buy from their site, it's $70 for 2. IIRC, it's $38 for 1 deck this year.

It is more if you are not in the US - I paid US$ 80 for a pair (shipping included).

I had requests for three decks, so I went ahead and ordered a half-brick to save a little money per deck ($29.17). I have two extras if anyone wants them. Just PM me.

Brad

Just a reminder - we are talking about the 2018 52 Plus Joker Deck, not the NPCCD decks.
