Yeah, I get what you're saying and part of me subscribes to that theory, but part of me also would like to pick up a few extra decks in case I end up liking them more than expected and don't want to shell out extra cash in the future.

Whatever price point they end up being, limited or not, they will never be cheaper than when they are sold on his site at launch. IMO. I think that would be your best bet if you think you might like extras.

You're absolutely right, most likely, they will never be cheaper. I suppose the point I was trying to make is that if they are limited, I would feel compelled (and more relieved) in purchasing more, knowing that 1. I may need to pay more later if I want more and 2. If I end up not liking them as much they would likely be easier to resell. However, if they are not limited, I would hesitate purchasing more because if I don't like it, I may not be able to resell them easily due to the fact that they are cheaper on DB's site, and that I can always come back to purchase more if I do like them.

Normally I'm not a silver fan but these are pretty dope, imo
After seeing this post, I might want this deck now. I got a gold gatorback to trade for it..............

DB decks seem to me like it's the only decks that's mass produced (10k and more) to be able to increase their value after a few years. Just look at the current aftermarket price for the white lions and gold gatorbacks after they went out of stock at the DB store. That's roughly 2x the price for just 1-2 yrs.
Any theories on that besides the DB name and how much his older decks now fetch?
EDIT: I'm in for both, but that's just because Mark Stutzman's art is beautiful and looks even better foiled!

Pretty much his name. He is the magician of our current time. So there are people that aren't necessarily collecting anything besides DB decks. So the demand for his decks is simply higher than for any others magicians decks.

I don't think those will be silver on black. I'm pretty sure that is just the lighting in the photo on the left. Looks like silver on white for the card backs and silver on black for the tucks.

THIS. I feel the same way.... really not sure how many I'll buy for this same reason. I'm guessing that because it doesn't say limited release.... then it will probably be normal / big sized print run.

Just received an email from David Blaine's shop saying there will be a sale in the first 12h of them being up, from Jan 20th midnight until noon (not sure what this means, if it's during the 20th or 21st). Each deck will be $15 and brick $150, after the 12h both will be more expensive, they don't specify how much. Ill try to edit this post and leave some screenshots later, but wanted to warn you all asap

I think it's from being part of the email group due to previous purchases. I got the email too. Too bad there isn't a mix brick option. I probably missed this discussion earlier but are these going to be printed the same way as the gold split spades? I felt like the backs of the gold split spades had bad resolution.

The email was titled to ‘Loyal Customers’, so probably people whom have purchased from the DB shop previously and most likely more than once. The email does state that after the first 12 hrs (starting midnight on the 20th...New York time I am assuming since that is where DB is based out of), the price will go up to 20 per deck and 200 for the brick box.

Picked up 2x of each on sale, was a good price for my first foray into gatorbacks.
Edit: Don't forget to use the code 'thankyou10' to save 10% on your order.

Same here being first time with GB. I went ahead and picked up a few of his other decks to take advantage of the discount code also.

Saw that as well and it gave me pause for a minute. Wondering if these decks have the same tuck issue that some of the signed rose golds had.

Note: Because of a calibration variance, the cellophane wrap on some decks is irregular. Tucks on some decks may have been compressed, which can typically be corrected after opening. Pricing takes into account this variation in workmanship, and we will generally not accept returns for minor irregularities.
Ummmm, no thanks

The hell, thats shady AF. Will still get a few, it's my fav Blaine deck, but why do they have to be like that... :c

It means they won't replace bad cellophaned decks which might be a bit compressed (too tight cellophaned, I guess).
USPC is really going down in quality

...
Taking into account that both decks are a larger print runs I can't grasp how this stays undetected until after the production. On reddit someone posted that even the signed decks from the pre-release had this issue. Doesn't throw a good light on both DB and USPC. Let's hope it effects just a tiny percentage of the decks.
Plus, I still can't tell if the cards from the silver gatorbacks are white/grey/black

. How can someone put such bad pictures on a website? Seeing that the tuck box is white stock I would say they are white indeed, but they look still dark grey-ish to me on that picture.

Yup, MetalLuxe indeed. It was known that the foiling takes away fine details from the artwork due to technological reasons back then. Gatorbacks aren't as fine detailed as Split Spades though, so it won't be a problem for them, plus I would guess they have improved it since then (well, more a hope than a guess).

I bought from his site before, didn't get an email about these decks but thanks to you all.
I thought the pic on 2nd page was the Black Gatorbacks but it's a picture of the new Silver Gatorbacks. Looks like the Silver Gatorbacks is a white tuck with the silver gator on front. It's just like the gold gatorbacks.
For the convo about people wondering if it's a limited release and all that, just start off buying 2-3 decks that you really like.

You've answeted yourself. Because as long as people are to weak/don't care enough to say no and start to put their money where their mouth is, nothing will change. Simple as that.

I just got some of these (silver and rose gold) in the mail today. A few had cellophane that wasn't perfectly smooth around the tuckcase, but all the tucks look good. (and honestly, the cellophane is only a very minor thing. Still fully wrapped and everything.)

Those bricks above are pretty.
I got 4 of the 6 gatorbacks. I don't understand how the red ones are over $200!? They're just like the green and black gatorbacks, no foil or anything but the gold ones are still low priced.
I like this series and want to see more gatorbacks in the future. These are better than Monarchs.

I would like the green and red as I like colored foil better than gold or silver, but i did pick up a rose gold. I will have to see in person but these decks, as well as the bikes they did in rose gold, look more like a dark gold than the pink gold which i think of when seeing rose gold.

I will most likely pick some up as well, but am suspecting the same as you STL. Not a real rosegold, unfortunately.
I would love to see the green gatorbacks to be done in foil as well. Such a missed opportunity back then, although they are still such a stunning deck.
Did someone open their new gatorbacks yet. Do they come with the same ad cards like the old gatorbacks or do they have some new artwork?

The red sold out in 4 minutes 10 seconds... I remember having a brick in my cart and saying nah I will get only 3. By the time i had made the change, everything was gone. Plus if I remember I think he only printed 5000 of the red. The previous black and silver had a 10000 run at least. The first green deck took a few weeks to sell out. So not many people in the end were able to grab the red from the website

The Red ones were a bad experience for me. He sent a message out on Twitter saying get ready and that they would drop some time that day. I was at work and they dropped while I was presenting in a meeting. Sold out quick as badpete said. No chance for me. I thought the print run on the Red was limited to 1,000?
