Lotrek, you mentioned that for Gold Patrons we would get two decks that are exclusive to Patreon backers. Can Gold Patrons purchase more than the two they get as Gold Patrons? Can Silver Patrons or regular patrons purchase them? I am just trying to get clarification...for my dog. He wants to know.
Not sure yet... Giving the option to Golden Patrons to get more decks is a thought. However it's better to keep it simple, so probably there won't be such an option. For Silver patrons it doesn't make sense, if they want the Patrons deck they can select the Golden tier from the beginning.
What we'll do though is having a 4th tier: "Manic Patrons" that will be getting 4 copies of the Patrons deck.
So leave your dog in peace!

Hmm, I like this Manic Patron level. Of course, it begs to be asked ... anything above that .... maybe Extreme Manic. You know, you thought about it Brad!

In honor of Bradius' dog, I propose that the highest level tier be named, "Top Dog Patrons"

Does the Silver level mean the cards will ALWAYS be silver? I can't recall if Lotrek has done a silver high end deck (don't say LESS, I thought of that and it was inexpensive). Thanks.

I relate to this. My wife "these decks are around $15 to $30 right?" Me "yaaaaaaa, some of them"
Your wife and mine were somewhat educated. Most people think a deck of cards costs $2 to $3.

I will go for more tiers but only if the patron decks are different. Take a page from the Texas family. Have some kids sprinkle stuff on the tuck box and viola - a different deck.

The Patron decks will be the same. The 4 Patron deck tier will be for those who desperately want... ehm... to spread the beauty to the world!

No, not necessarily but given that most of my decks are towards the golden end of the spectrum, many of them will probably be silver. The difference will also may be in the stock, too. Think of the two Damask decks. The blue one would be the Silver patrons' reward.
Generally speaking, patrons will have priority over others. If for any reason I end up with say, 100 copies of a certain deck -as it happened with GoG Standard Oath, Patrons of all tiers will be the first to have access to these decks.
We're also thinking of giving Patrons the same serial number of decks. If for example you become Patron #15, you'll be getting #15 of all patreon and non-patreon decks you buy within the year. Just a thought.

What happens if we have to cancel or lower tier midway through the year? Do we get credit for less decks according to what we already "paid" or no?

Haven't thought about that yet. Depends on when you cancel. If you do it after 1-2 months you're just refunded. Mid way or near the end, we'll have to see. Everything will be clarified in the newsletter announcing it to the public.

i agree on 1-2 months there's a refund option (i agree on the thought, don't mind if its decided or not)
get credit for canceling midway is just making things complicated. in other words, its just unofficially asking to create individual tiers, by the monetary values "paid"
for example: i'm "paying" for 6 months gold tier > proceeds to cancel it, and asking u to send me 1x silver + 1x gold.
or request to go silver tier after 6 months of gold tier > proceeds to ask for 2x silver, 1x gold.
might be a problem keeping track of individual tiers? idk.
i'm just going with "not 12months, u get nothing" with w/e lotrek proposed. just my 2 cents

Making patreon more "a la carte" just adds trouble. Although I'm blessed with serious backers who do not employ tricks in order to get something, the model will be: cancelling after 1-2 months, you get a refund. Cancelling after that, you get a wholehearted thank you for the support so far.
I really want to focus on creation instead of handling requests.
Patreon isn't an alternative way to sell decks, it's a commitment for both sides and God knows how much I hate showing work in progress but I'll do it because people love it and I know many want to see how an idea is developed.
That said, there are some guidelines for the Patron deck but it will be fully developed in the first months of patronage. The more patrons we get, the more crazy these decks will be. The starting point will be something simple: 2 foils on the back.

It's a piece of art from my favourite board game, and is actually a pretty good likeness of me and my demented smile seeing Greek philately in my PO Box.
WARNING!! This post is about to include a full-size version of said artwork
I don't know if this site puts spoiler "click the image to see" type things here, but if we do, it might be an idea, to save Timmargh's sight
This is a mod-magic request
Honest, don't come any closer....

I am so excited to see this. I am definitely in - should also make getting some of the limited decks easier. I do not really like trying to get the decks into the shopping cart and checkout all in the time span of a few milliseconds.

It's a pretty cool picture and well drawn, especially as it did genuinely unsettle me the first few times I saw it. Which game is it from?

We're getting a little OT here, but to answer the question: Kingdom Death Monster.
