Don’t expect to have a minute or more when the restock hits - pop something else in your cart, go through the checkout but stop at the last pay button - then go back and lay in wait. Give yourself 10 seconds or less to check out with the deck you want - if your heart isn’t pounding, you aren’t in the race
I may try to get one or two, and offer them here for cost, just in case you have a slow trigger finger…
Tried - quick as a bunny - still sold out - that was certainly another round of bots

Alex updated the page:
LIMBO DECK (RELEASES 12:20PM)
Sold Out
Note: There was a bot that created all the orders. I am fixing this and canceling all those orders and will release the stock at 12:20pm. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Classic scalpers and their bots, smh

I tried to see if I can get some for the gang here but alas. There has to be a way to circumvent bots. Maybe CAPTCHAs are not it, but something.

He changed it to where the limit was 1, but I was still too slow. Sigh.

It'll be nice to see these showing up on eBay any moment now at 5x the price.

If something like that occurred, I think it's up to the community to do something about it by not buying them at those exorbitant prices. If scalpers continue to profit, they won't stop.

Still sold out EVEN when I am on time....
Oh well, for those spoilsports, just enjoy your Limbo and shame yourself by listing it with jacked up price on eBay

Something tells me that he will cancel the bot orders again and figure some method to avoid them before trying again.
If scalpers did manage to buy out the lot it would certainly be a joy to see them get stuck with them

This is what happened at SoCal playing cards when the bots bought up the Bicycle Gatorbacks plus the other decks. All these bots may be coming from one area of a city, I never dealt with something like this before. If there wasn't bots, decks would be gone under 2 minutes.

The noon launch was a complete surprise as I've never had a bot problem before. The 12:20 release was normal humans though and it feels fast because there wasn't that many units.
If I'm going to be honest if I could do this again I would increase the lead time on production and just do an open sale window as a preorder. It'd be less stressful and probably do better with sales. I think I was so focused and nervous about the project and its reception that I didn't even think about the market mechanics a low run would instigate.
I honestly didn't think people would take to a deck about grief this much but I'm sure the numbering plays a large factor for some people. I have a few personal sets put aside for damages and if anyone actually resonated with the design itself let me know on IG and I can try to put you on a list to get you a deck after this is fulfilled and no damages/lost packages were reported. The point of the piece was message delivery not a mass sale and I can admit I messed up on the offering side of this but can adjust so that the next release avoids all this by setting it up as a pre-order if people are willing to wait.

Good to know it was humans - we will see how many get listed on ebay right away to find out how many were scalpers vs collectors…

Think some of use who ordered NPCCD 2022 should show how we are willing to wait when it is finished. We also didn’t know how the heck 2021 gotta looked like as well

I would bet 98% scalpers and 2% collectors
These scalpers are the spoilsports

It's a shame as well since this project was filled with the creator's own personal energy but scalpers don't care about any kind of message or concept.

I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with the way Alex approached this in the sense that lots of creators do limited drops. Same thing happens with most collectibles. It's just disheartening as a collector to have to compete against bots and those whose only appreciation lies in how much profit they can generate from those who truly desire the deck itself. And yes, I realize there are collectors that buy extras in order to fund their hobby. It just seems like it's getting worse lately, and it's rare I can sit there at a specific time in hopes I'll be one of the lucky few. So again - maybe this isn't for me - I don't derive the 'thrill of the chase' from these drops. At least I was able to get an Unbroken deck last time around, which many couldn't, so I'll try to be content with that.
This is part of why I like the Patreon and subscription models (KWP, Lotrek, S17, Jocu, Thirdway): for the most part I don't have to play games or worry about if I'm on a plane or at a customer site or whatever. And yes, there will be things I don't like/want, but I'm willing to take that as part of the deal.

Yep. I missed this too. I was out anyway, but tried on my phone. I'll let some others bag these and move on to more abundant game. I have enough meat in my freezer to last me a long time, so I am not fussed.

I've sort of figured out how to fix things for the next launch but I've been trying to figure out how to make things right for this specific launch (if possible). While I of course appreciated all the support, having this many people out in the dust because of my undershot in quantity is something I'd like to fix.
I was thinking of designing 1 more edition sold in a 24 hour time window? It'd sort of be like how 52+J handled their release last year. How does that sound to people? Obviously this edition wouldn't be out of 52 but out of whatever people ordered in that 24 hour window.
People that got their set could also get this extra edition and choose either to wait a little longer to ship together at no extra cost to them, and then those that didn't get a chance could get this other edition?

I'll just say it: I fear for my NPCCD order...
This was a great move on Alex not showing this one before asking us to blindly buying the NPCCD decks.

The decks I made during this period are a completely different style than the NPCCD decks as they have completely different goals. NPCCD lines are aimed for inspiration and innovation while this "Quiet Period" line is meant for specific emotion evocation. It's never my goal to trap someone for a quick sale.
The point of the blind purchase was part of the experience. If you no longer wish to be part of that experience please feel free to email me directly and I'll be happy to refund you in full '

Sounds - like all limitations - like shit. Sorry for being that blunt.
Fun little anecdote: In Germany we used to ridicule people from the GDR for not having all the goods West Germans had access to or mock them for having to stand in lines for stuff. The GDR seized to exist more than thirty years ago... slow claps for being at the exact same point in time.
You wanna do something innovative in the card community? Come up with an awesome product that is readily available for people not bothered to set alarms and tapping F5.
