Please replace Victor's pictures. All he does is crop and post the promo photos, or photos someone else posts. If you can scan your decks that would be great.

The Target page states Brown in the title, though it shows both colors. I don' t know how you can ensure you get both. Free shipping this week so get them if you want them.

I just got editor privileges last night - thanks ecNate - and was planning to replace several pictures on the site. I scan all of my decks - so much easier than trying to use a photo.

I just checked the Target link and it looks like they are out of stock as far as shipping goes. When I added them to my cart a window came up showing the in-stock status of my local store(s). It says the closest store has them but when I went by last week there were none to be found. I guess I'll have to go by the store again. What a nuisance. With free shipping I could have had them delivered and not have to get my fat a** off the couch. Thanks for the update and the link, CBJ.

Jackpot!
It took several phones calls, trips to several stores, plus employee searches in the back rooms, and my wife finally noticing that Target was NOT stocking the Bicycle Retro Cards with the regular playing cards; they were displaying them, or their stock tags, on special End Cap Retro Displays, which also included many old-fashioned versions of Retro games like Monopoly.
I have a feeling that Target special-ordered all of these nostalgic items for display together as a Retro display, but only in certain of the larger Target stores.
Call and ask for someone to look up "Bicycle Retro Playing Cards," and ask them to tell you what other stores have them in-stock; and ask for the quantity on-hand.
Everywhere I went, the quantities were wrong; and I found out why...
No matter which decks you buy, even though they all have different UPC numbers, each cashier just counts how many decks you are buying, and scans one deck that any times! So expect some stores to have none, and others to have plenty; even if they are in the back room.
I'm going to hold on to the decks I got today, until somebody offers something in trade that I don't have...
Here's a picture of my successes today; and I still have one more deck coming in the mail:

You didn't happen to take a picture of the retro display, didja? Sounds great with all the vintage games!

These weren't hard for me to find. I like how all the tucks are embossed though I just only got the brown deck. The green and brown decks were $5 something and the red and blue were like $3 something.
For the seal, what the hell is that creature? Looks like a bear.

I tried the Target link and was able to order one more of the retro brown and two of the blue collectors editions. It states they're in stock and I should have them by the end of next week, so now might be the time to try your luck.
I'll post here again once I receive them. *fingers crossed*

Sorry, no.
But it was a standard End Cap, with the Word Retro at the top; and the playing cards, or their tags where the should be, on the top shelf; and then each of the other shelves loaded with retro versions of board games and toys.

Just a public comment on the decks I've found so far:
Several people have expressed an interest in purchasing a set from me, or trading for something I don't have in my collection yet, but I'm going to hang on to what I have until someone offers to trade something that I am missing that is equally hard to find...
I think most people will find them too, if they do a few phone and physical searches for the Retro End Cap displays like I did.
And even I, may try to find two more Brown and two more Green decks, so I can complete two more sets...

Hmm, now that I've seen the whole set, I really want these now. Especially the Russell & Morgan Co. remakes. Looks good.

If anybody is wondering about the Target link
http://www.target.com/p/bicycle-retro-p ... ying+cards, the cards I received from them are GREEN. Not brown as described on the Target site. Also, they do a TERRIBLE job of packing. So don't expect perfect boxes upon arrival.
Here's a photo:

Any suggestions on shipping 8 decks? I think a medium sized priority box would be too much but I'll see if there's any thing between the small and medium.

Ok, thanks to Will Hart I found some of these but only one set of all the colors. I have 2 sets of green and brown and one set of green, brown and red if anyone would like them. At cost of course ($5 per deck plus $5 shipping) PM me if you would like them.
I will hit some other Targets now that I know where to look.
A big thank to Will for the heads up.

I'd like to offer a heaping bowl of "thank you" to Will Hart for the info on where to find these in the store. I made my third trip to the local target with his info in mind. I looked all around the toy aisles- nothing. Having faith that I would not be led astray, I went waaaay down the end of the shelves, I think it was the baby furniture area. Nothing. About to give up hope, I went around to the back side and there was a dishelved looking end cap with a sign that said "Retro". There were only two decks left- the green and brown. Since those are the only ones I was interested in anyway, I grabbed them and ran. Bonus- they were on sale for $4.74. Thanks again Will.
And let this be a lesson to the retailers of the world. You cannot hide your rare decks from us. The members of United Cardists have a very particular set of skills. Skills we have acquired over very long careers. Skills that make us a nightmare for people like you. Give us your cards now and that will be the end of it. We will not look for you. We will not pursue you. But if you don't, we will look for you, we will find you, and we will k...pay a reasonable amount of money for your cards.
Sorry, a little drunk with power after a successful hunt. It takes so little to make me happy these days.

So far I have 3 people who want one of each deck. Shipping 4-6 decks should be no problem with normal small flat box cost/weight. I'll go to store like 9am.

rousselle wrote:So, the boxes play up the "Russell & Morgan Factory" in "Cincinnati, Ohio." Does USPCC still maintain any of the original equipment that they had in Cinci, or is this just repro art that is also, coincidentally, misleading? Nowhere on the decks on the outside does it say that it's *actually* printed in Kentucky (although on the bottom flap it does say that USPCC is headquartered there.)
Does anyone here have any insight on this?
Having all four decks on hand, I can tell you that every single one of them may look like a perfect replica of the original decks, but on the bottom of each one, next to their very modern UPC bar codes, they say @2015 Erlanger, KY 41018
And their UPC Numbers are as follows:
The Russell & Morgan Co's US Bicycle Playing Cards in Blue = 073854022429
The Russell & Morgan Co's US Bicycle Playing Cards in Red = 073854022412
Bicycle 808 Air-Cushion Finish Playing Cards in Brown = 073854022443
Bicycle 808 Air-Cushion Finish Playing Cards in Green = 073854022436
I Hope this clears up a bit of misconception about these fun replicas!

I had the same experience. I ordered one of the brown Autobike #3's and ended up getting a green one (which is good, I already landed a single brown one from a Target nearby) and two of the other chainless back blue decks, both were indeed blue when they arrived.
The packaging was horrible. An over-sized cardboard box (and I must stress
way over-sized box) with some of those large 'inflatable bags' stuffed in there and the cards just thrown in the box. Mine arrived undamaged, but it's a
miracle they did so with
that packaging.
I checked the Target in Martinsburg WV this weekend to no avail. Even looked for the 'retro' display Will mentioned, which they did not have (that I could find). They're certainly not making it simple to find these. lol

Having finally joined 52 Plus Joker (
http://www.52plusjoker.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), I also got access to the latest issue of Card Culture magazine (AUGUST 2015 - ISSUE 09; even though the cover says June 2015 - Issue 07), which includes about a half-page ad for the Retro decks at Target.
And, more importantly, Bicyclecards.com now has information on these decks at the following two links:
Bicycle® Chainless Playing Cards

Bicycle® Autobike Playing Cards

Found the red green and brown at my local target just now. Wasn't able to find them at first but then I checked the website and it said they were in stock and even what aisle they were located at. I have a pic of the end cap, will upload it later. Heading to another target now to try and find a blue one.

Went to my local target and bought all 10 decks they had in stock. In my haste I did not think to examine the decks too closely. Each deck has it's own small dent in one random corner. I am going to save one set for myself, but I do have 2 Browns, 2 Greens and 2 Blues that I am happy to part with if you are OK with a dented corner. Cost to me was $4.99 and shipping cost for one deck is $2.22. If you would like more than one deck, I will ship and then just let you know how much it was. If you are looking for a perfect collectible store in the display case type of deck, this probably is not your best bet. Cool cards though.

I only managed to find one of each at my nearby Target. But damn it if I didn't want to buy every single retro game on that display. SO cool!
