That's the dragon tome from albino dragon. It was a kickstarter project last year but you can buy it on their website right now

Edit: Damn you guys are fast! [MURRAY]

Speaking of Dragon Tome, I decided to follow Jase's idea and take a stab at painting the little dragon that came with the crate. I think it turned out pretty decent.

Nice one! The USPCC presentation set given out at a banquet in Cincinnati for their Centennial Jubilee in 1981. I got several, and will post a link to one in Buy/Sell/Trade soon.

Never even taken out of the cardboard sleeve (not shown). The pix of the cards are from Hochman's - I sure would not open one!

US3b & US4b both in a satin lined leatherette case. Reprints of the 1881 decks with a new back so they can't be passed off as the original. Still worth $100 each at least, they were worth $50 each in 2004 without the box and OG insert.

Hochman's encyclopedia numbers US3b & US4b.

Yep, smallest as $23.50 now - if you print postage, $24.75 at the post office. Big box is $65, I think - never used one international

Yeah, I drooled over those the whole time up until they went into the box. Had to wear a bib the whole time. Something to look for when I do my thrift shop runs...

Didn't they have one of these at the 52+ joker silent auction?

Somebody had one, but I don't think it went into the silent auction. I am pretty certain that I looked at everything, even the unusual and downright odd ones in that. It's possible, people added things right up to the last few minutes this year.

Ive never seen one of these opened, which is odd. You would think that some 5 year old kid ended up playing with a deck no matter what, and even the fold-over insert talks about "when you are playing" with them.

I figure these particular sets were not used due to attendance, because someone who was there stated that the outside cardboard case was discarded before they put them out on the banquet tables for each attendee.

Back on topic, I wondered just what might be wrong with this 1896 Andrew Dougherty "Indicator #50" listed for $8 "Buy it Now" on eBay. Nothing, in fact maybe the cleanest example of this I have seen: (people - start watching newly listed items!)
20150206_150230-1.jpg
"Indicators " were amongst the first decks with modern day indices, shortly after Triplicates.

Good news everyone! :geek:

Had these on my list for a while but was waiting until I found them at a decent price. $6 for the Duff tin (not too shabby!) The Futurama double deck tins are available very easily but I think the Slurm can has much more character.

Awesome, I too have had that Simpsons one on my list for a while. My primary concern was the beer can 'tuck' as it doesn't fit into my display scheme. Good find though, that futurama one is an amazing match for it too.

@Necro: I got it for $6 so not too bad considering how much they actually sold for back then.

@Nate: I hear yah, I keep a small cabinet reserved exclusively for oddball shaped, oversized and double deck sets while I figure out how to fill the entire place with display shelves.

Seriously? It really helps when people are giving their parents & grandparents decks away for less than 10% of value. These are shown in Hochman's for $50+$50 value "as issued" in 2004. Oh, well - I have several still in the outer cardboard slipcase.

Are the Jokers in the open decks? (it would be nice to have an opened set)

Hochman has never been really good about pricing. Fullboatdealer had a good stock of these a few years back for either $29 IIRC. I still have the cardboard slipcases, but they weren't very photogenic.
The Jokers do come with the deck: (Open one up - enjoy them, except they don't handle really well.)
