Appreciate the replies! I’ve found several other nautical decks that I love and purchased today…this turned into a dangerous rabbit hole. Riffle Shuffle Atlantis, Bicycle Sea King, Jocu Onda and Penguin Magic Jellyfish. So far.

Well, we all get that feeling. Just try to learn self control - focus on what you love and don’t let FOMO gets to you (although it is easier said than done)

Welcome @jordn613!

When it comes to nautical themes, I'm a fan of Steampunk Pirates, myself -- the theme is excellently executed, and the fact that I was close personal friends with one of the sci-fi/fantasy authors who was commemorated as a court card, how could I not love it?

Oh, and check out the decks of Brain Vessel. (As good as the design work was, I found those a bit pricey for my tastes even so, but YMMV.)

That said, the size of the indexes will be a factor depending upon what your intended use is. I wouldn't necessarily use EOTO for poker night with the guys, but for playing a less formal game with your kids or klondike on your own, it's perfectly fine and fun to admire while you play. As an art deck to ogle and show off? It's a slam dunk.

How many of you have completed the quest? I am still struggling with it and have enlisted the help of my speech therapist. At our last session I asked if we could have a look at the quest instead of our usual crossword and she replied: "Yes, I love quests. As long as you speak!" Having a second head seems to have really helped, but we are not there yet.

I submitted the correct answer a little while ago. At that time I was the 18th person to solve it.

I also want to give it a try, but I started probably too late. I started reading the book. I think I read about 6 chapters, but I don't think I actually started the quest yet.

There are a few small hints in the text of the book, but you don't actually need to read it cover-to-cover to solve the quest. Just reading the prologue is sufficient.

I actually did read it cover to cover, cuz its really fun!
I love to see all those illustrations and such, one of the graph really tells you how to arrange the map

I'm certainly not trying to discourage anyone from reading the book! It is a good read and there are indeed a few hints; I just meant to say that anyone who is short on time could read the prologue and focus on the quest for the next few days and read the rest later.

I managed to figure an answer, not sure if I managed to get it in under the deadline as it didn’t have a time - nor am I sure I got the order correct - feels good to have given it a shot though :)

So many familiar UC names! Glad to be up the wheel with you guys lol. :ugking:
And what ever the raffle result will be, The real reward is the experiences we made along the way!

Edit: The greedy me would be so dead inside if i don't win anything
Also, anyone think that having some form of post card (even digitally) instead of $20 would be even nicer?

Well… I am thinking of a vintage letter kind of thing with a signed illustration of the Eye of the Ocean island would be nice

20$ discount on the webstore that might not shipped to my country is rendered useless

Best of luck to us all! 1/9 chance to win an extraordinary prize.

I also like the idea of having some sort of physical acknowledgment of successfully solving the quest as you all mentioned.

The hard way? I navigated the globe the wrong way round, ate enough herring for a lifetime and have a vague memory of kissing a squid…

I never figured out what to do with the cutouts in the tuck boxes. Fortunately, you didn't really need that step to figure out the following part!

I did, however, spend a lot of extra hours learning how to read nautical log books and discovering what the Metonic Cycle is...
That wasn't really wasted time though; it was pretty interesting!

Still haven't read the actual book

Seeing the prices the Quartermaster auctions at S17 are going for I figure someone might be interested:

Quartermaster + Book + Pin & Coin - $335 at wounded corner (they just dropped the price by $50)

Great deal I would've jumped on if I hadn't gone for his codex bundle. Now I'll have to look into selling off some parts, like the quartermaster, book, etc.

Fun fact: Steve cellophane wrapped the QM
