Technically not cards, but these four Joker prints from Dr Immy Smith's "Crypyic" deck are truly nice, and if you didn't see this deck funding on KS, you should check it out!

56 fully custom (100% including art on all 36 pip cards) is really exceptional! A unique perspective on the deck, frankly.

I haven't opened the uncuts yet, but I will take pix of signed #1 of those soon, also. Just truly done well...

A friend of mine at work just gave me a deck of cards he saved from 16 years ago:

Not much more than gift-shop quality but quite the throw-back!

With apologies for any pic quality issues, herewith my first contribution to this thread which has been so wonderful to me -- giving a little back...

The Wild Reign decks from Gregor Klingman's K/S (along with a cool tee I just could not resist) -- I didn't open the Crimson edition deck.

Then the Museum of Osteology Deck, previously seen here and the companion Animals Unveiled deck I think not shown before. (Both can be currently gotten at skullsunlimited.com, with free shipping for only a couple of more days...)

Christmas Edition:

Rather than start a new thread I thought I would add to this one buy showing the decks I got for Christmas. It was a pretty good haul. Everybody loves the fact that I collect cards since it makes it easy to buy for me. And I love getting them so everybody wins. Here is the breakdown:

Image

Top row from left: Bicycle Autocycle- we don't have a Target where I live so when I was out of town I hit one and scored these. Now I just have to find a Walmart. American Frontier- found the box set at Filson.com for a steal.

Second row: Royal Pulp, Doomsday, Imperial- I won the Imperial book in last years DOTY contest, and Randy Butterfield gave me an Imperial Gold deck. I wanted this one to complete the set (complete enough for me, that is). Superior Silver Arrow.

Last two of second and bottom row: All 8 of the Trace series. I didn't know these existed until recently. Say what you want but I really like these variations and recolors of the basic rider backs so I was very excited about these and very happy to get them for Christmas.

What did Santa bring the rest of you?

I know that it is a 1984 reprint of a deck from 1819. The deck is poker size. The name given is Cartes Recratives and it says it was reprinted by Vito Arienti for Edizioni del Sollento in some occasion for International Playing Card Society in Paris 19.10.1984 - 21.10.1984. The deck has 32 cards + 2 extra cards. The spot cards are done in transformation style. I have one for myself and one that I am giving away in the decks of the year contest. And Jock/Jase, now is the time for you to ride here and tell us something more about this deck :D

Some Japanese goods.

I'm a huge fan of one piece, the Grand Tesoro deck was a promo deck given out at the premiere of the One Piece movie.

So I got these decks from Spain today:

First one is an Italian custom deck. Apperantly it is designed by a guy named Timmel:

The second one is... Egyptian...? It does say Cairo - Egypt on the front. It is also wrapped in paper and not in a tuck box.

And this is the part where Jock/Jase rides here and tells me everything he knows about these :D Thanks in advance. Oh and I also have 1 of each unopened.

Love the courts on the Italian deck. I'll have to keep my eye out for one of those!

I got mine from Naipeszaca.com. They do have international shipping, although it is a bit pricey, even within Europe. But I think that the deck was like 4,40 € so you might want to try to check if a 1 or 2 deck order would stay within reason.

"Giochi di corte" means "Court games" this deck was printed in 1991 by Cambissa of Italy, Timmel was actually an artist named Vito Thummel (1886-1949)
A very nice deck, i think i`ll get myself one...thanks for showing :D
The Cosmos deck had me flumuxed for a while.
Carvelli Freres of Cairo is actually a Tobacconist firm. They had Playing cards made for them by De La Rue of England in 1935-1939 hence the Goodall court cards. From the 1940`s onwards the local firm Amirayan simply copied these cards in order to produce cheaper cards. i see Naipeszaca.com has them listed as 1950`s which is about right for a later printing by Amirayan.
Hope this helps :D -jase-

Hey Raply,

Can you edit your posts so we know which cards are from what deck please? You're going to bankrupt me with all those great decks at that site you provided.

Thanks. :)

Cross posted from the UC2017 Fifth Annual Decks project Avant-garde - I got a pair of each deck early, Dave Edgerly just got them from the Austin inland port Wednesday. They should be shipping fulfillment starting next week.

The tucks (all foil, no ink), Jokers and a sample suit of courts from both the UC green Dec will the Royal House courts and the blue version with Edgy Brothers standard courts.

Also today, Sunish's Devine Art deck arrived. Since I have a prototype, I won't open this LE deck, one of 500:

Been a while since I posted to this thread. A few decks from the thrift store.
Thriftfinds_early2017_small.jpg
The Game of Thrones turned out to be a disappointing standard deck with G of T backs.

The one in the center is a vintage Club Reno Pinochle set from Arrco, with "Ripple" finish and Fortuna Bona Ace of Spades.

The colourful thick deck is from the movie Cars. I wouldn't have been interested except it's lenticular. :ugdance:

The one on the far right was a surprise. I don't normally go for birds and flowers backs, but the courts and pips were an interesting custom design. They're from Punch Studio.

The Giraffes are a nice old 'made in China' deck with vintage graphics for the ace and jokers.

The Check-Mate decks are from 1989 and officially endorsed by FIDE World Chess Federation. They have 52 different end-games on the faces (not the backs like the box says).

Africa Match is a deck featuring a hand carved relief print face on each card, made by emerging artists.

Last, and a current fave (I'm a sucker for glow in the dark) is the Night Glow deck. It has a retro 1970s look, with it's amber box and tree back, but is probably a modern Umbra deck. I love this box and card back.

The faces are typical Umbra minimalism and they do glow.

I just came across this yesterday at a local thrift shop and thought it was a find worth sharing. A casino deck with nice custom courts and more. It's a Gemaco deck with cut corners for the Sky Dancer Casino in North Dakota which I had never heard of before, but looks pretty neat, glad I found it. :D
