One DB Lion brick set has sold as best offer accepted somewhere between 900 and 1000$. That's not a bad return. I should list one of the two bricks I picked up.

Dave's Zero deck is already on the crack radar:

Keep in mind these are still in stock for $10 on Vanda. Unless I'm missing something about the version?

Holy s**t... A cheap ass souvenir deck, but hey it's old, must be worth almost half a grand then, right?

They're £9.99 on their website, but they don't charge postage on eBay so the price is adjusted to compensate.

They have fixed it now, the price was £1249 per deck when I posted this

I think Lorenzo has been selling a set of both decks for like $45 each, so three sets is like $135. The carat case I think went for like $30 and the card guard for like $15. So, direct sales cost is like $180. Plus, Simon has paid the VAT, so it doesn't seem so crazy, especially given they are currently unavailable by Lorenzo. I really like the half brick set in the custom carat case with card guard. If you don't have a Gatekeeper, it is a nice alternative set. TwoPiece came up with the idea and I broke one of my mixed bricks and bought two extra carat cases to make two of these sets for my collection. It really is a sweet set.

This person must have snorted at least half a kilo of crack to make this listing right!? $900 USD for a Golden Oath, two available. Out of all the Lotrek decks I have, I consider mine to be in the bottom 3 of his works, although the tuck is admittedly gorgeous. To put into perspective, Icons Signatures go for around 350 USD at the top end!

Great share, great laugh. Thanks for that Adonael.

This in particular made me laugh pretty hard:
I do not mark items as "Gifts" on customs forms because that is illegal.
that would mean additional 277 US$ Import tax for German buyers (and I guess EU in general) on top.
Shipping insurance is included with all international shipments for free.
ALL international shipments will come with tracking, unlike the other sellers here!
How generous, after I would have paid 900US$ + 120US$ Shipping + 277US$ = 1,297 US$ in total

I disagree (with being "Bottom 3"). I think that Golden Oath is Lotrek's 3rd best deck.

That being said - it's not worth remotely close to $900. Maybe $250?

Yep the shipping is insane too, they make it sound like it's going to be shipped in a literal wooden crate Indiana Jones style because it's such a rare and valuable artifact. I'd have to agree with maybe 200-250 as an actual realistic price, I wonder how many years it will take until the listing is lowered that far or some poor soul bites the bullet first?

I have to agree that $900 is WAY on the crack side for this deck. It is available and not insanely rare. I don't know where I would put it on Lotrek's decks, but it is high on my list. My favorite deck is his Venexiana Gold simply because it was his first complete deck to use hot foil on every card. I like Lotrek's decks for his innovative production efforts almost as much for their stunning beauty. In the case of the Golden Oath it was his first set of cards (maybe his only) that only used hot foil, and in three colors with exacting registration. I am not a fan of the card stock, but the work and craftsmanship is stunning. I feel privileged to have several Golden Oath decks and the even rarer prototypes. I have thought about selling maybe one of my sets of the Golden Oath and Golden Oath Prototype decks in a two deck carat case. Even in my most hyped up dreams would never imagine putting the pair up for $900, much less for just one deck. I have seen better grade crack on eBay, but this is definitely a crack offering.

I agree with TwoPiece and Adonael that this deck might be more realistic at $200 to $250. If you think you are likely to get one for $80, then I will say that your on crack too though.

Venexiana Gold was also a completely custom deck, unlike most of his latest decks, which just have some variations on standard courts (excluding Arabesque).

Venexiana was the designer in Lotrek.

I certainly wouldn't include Silk in 'just variations on standard courts'. As someone who is definitely turned off by standard courts, last time I went back to the Silk decks and really took a look at them the art is nowhere near standard, maybe very loosely inspired by at most, and utterly beautiful in it's own right. Not Arabesque breathtaking, but something that I would place somewhere between that and Venexiana. If he's going to stick to a pattern, that should, hopefully, mean that the next deck after Fable will also be at that level of custom design and something I would truly look forward to.

Silk is probably Lotrek's 2nd best deck. Name of the deck slipped my mind when I was submitting that post.

Understandable! I actually didn't pay enough attention to the courts in the Silk decks when I first got them, because the artwork itself doesn't stand out that much at just a glance what with all the foil, and later in my head I was thinking 'just standard-ish courts', probably getting them mixed up a bit with Damask. But then when I actually pulled them out again I was blown away.

I love it. Ah Silk, standard stuff, yada, yada, yada. Open them up. Holy Sh*$! These are awesome custom courts. Yeah, Lotrek does that some times. Some are custom courts in understated single hot foil, another a blinged out standard courts. I like both Damask and Silk for very different reasons.

I will say it again, I can have a Damask deck out on a table with a Silk deck. Folks will go for the Damask deck EVERY time. Humans are Nifflers at heart.

As for that recent ebay link. Wow that is some high grade crack there.

Well, non-card collectors are obviously attracted to shiny objects and not the designs themselves.

That's like me saying, "I had a piece of gold, and a piece of Damascus steel on my coffee table, and every time my guests look at the shinier rock"...

I get the impression that sometimes, the point of a listing isn't actually to sell the item. But, what *could* the purpose be? Hmmmm...

Partially-relative story:

Watching a comic book on eBay. A 9.9 for $3,500. It has been the only one on the market for at least a year. Last week, another one popped up. Same comic in 9.9 grade listed for $3,900. First seller ups his price to $4,500.

So, I don't even know what some people are thinking...

I think the first seller either 1) Thinks his comic is in better condition to the new one being listed, or 2) Doesn’t really want to sell his comic (or both may be true). Thanks for sharing.
