The black and gold deck looks almost like the chronos players. However, that gold and white! I hope the gold on the gold and white deck is closer to the copper color like in the picture. The black and gold gold is a lot more yellow.

Perhaps a better description would have been that the black and gold standard oath remind me of the Chronos players. The designs are different enough, I meant more the color scheme.

The other thing I was alluding to is depending on price, I would probably only get the gold and white because of the Chronos similarities. My comment was definitely not meant as a negative remark against the black and gold deck.

No but I'm pretty sure he said there will be a non-collector's edition released later this year which suggests that these will be higher priced. My guess is $50-65 range.

I think lotrek often launches around 5pm EST, I'd seen it somewhere in a comment here. But from what I've seen no official time yet from Lotrek. But I wouldn't worry, this will come.

Lotrek does not operate on "time" as you or I define it. To those like Lotrek, time is an artificial construct, nothing more. Beginning is end, and end is beginning. "Time" to one such as Lotrek is as color is to a man born without sight. The face of a clock is as meaningless as the revolutions of a planet. Time both exists and does not exist, like a game with no players. Comprehending the way they perceive time is much like the way one would think of thoughts that do not exist.

But yeah, 5pm EST sounds about right.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Lotrek. I really admire him.
IMO he does everything right as a playing card creator/designer.
He makes beautiful decks, doesn't create too many either, always makes the right amount of variations, with a true added value to each of those variations.
He communicates well and honestly, his sales are open to anyone (you just have to get there on time), he limits the resellers catching everything by limiting the really limited decks to 1/pp.
He thinks further and adds this possibility to just buy a few cards for those not wanting to open the decks. For me it's clear he cares a lot about his business, but he goes further and understands that to have a successful business you need to give concrete solutions to existing problems, and it's that ability to identify those problems and to find solutions that also shows his love for the community and his eagerness to bring out something that's is worth it, something that's a real added value to this community.

Finding that balance to create a win - win situation, by doing something that is profitable for him but that feels profitable for us card lovers as well is hard, and for me no one surpasses Lotrek in the art of doing that. I do appreciate his designs, but I do equally appreciate his way of doing business.
And ultimately for me paying 45 dollars up to 65 dollars for a deck in those circumstances is more of a pleasure than a constraint.

(I'm not saying other companies and designers aren't great, It just hit me how Lotrek for me is always on point).
Hope I'm not too much off topic with this post...

Where do I go to order?
I'm so hype since scanning the boards show that Lotrek produces really good stuff.

I'm quite torn by this release, especially with the experience with the Chronos decks.

Sure the Chronos collectors is neat with the personal touch on the tucks, but the players edition which was released later, didn't fall far behind for half the price and imo even had a nicer tuck.

I'm hesitant on buying the Oath Standard now, when I know I can get it with a different box, perhaps different foil, later for half the price.

How much different will the players edition be Lotrek? Need some convincing the collectors edition is worth it :) Please?

Thanks mate, I always double check. I did the time conversion just wanted to be sure.
It's always nice to interact with humans instead of an algorythm... wait - you are a human, right? :P

Hi there, I'm the time conversion bot, we could not handle your request. Try to put in an exact time with timezone.

Hehe, I hope I'm still a little human even after all my software engineering work ;) It is indeed nice to talk to humans, it would be even more pleasing to convert your time concerns face to face ;)

Maybe later this year if you're planning on visiting Cardistry-Con in autumn, which is in Bruselles this year.

???? You have to be kidding me??? Are you serious? Will there finally be something about playing cards in Belgium? This is even more exciting news then lotrek's release tonight, and I was already hyped for tonight! You have any link to some more info on this? Sorry, I don't mean to be off topic.
You'll be there? If so I'll be sure to have my time conversion sheets with me, and you can expect a free deck (or 2) of the 2009-2014 era just for bringing me this news :D :D

Sure, just click here. I mean, it is solely cardistry based so unless you are a fan of cardistry nothing really to see there.

I plan definitely to be there but tickets sell out fast so, I have to see if I'm lucky or not.

Definitely the stock will be different. The Collector’s edition is printed on a stock that doesn’t have a black core.
F92ECAA3-B61B-40A4-A314-52EEE8804EC9.jpeg

Player’s will be printed on playing card stock from Germany . The player’s edition will have only one foil on the tuck case. Player’s edition will have only one foil on the back. Plus whatever changes I may get inspired to do. It’s not printed yet, so nobody knows exactly how it will look like. But it will definitely be simpler.
Don’t take it for granted that my collector’s editions will be simpler than the player’s edition just because this seems to be the case with Chronos.

As a general rule, unless you’re CapraAegagrus you’re more bound to regret not getting one of my decks than regret getting it.

Let's me dream of the super awesome (stockwise) absolute vodka playing cards. May I ask how you came up with the idea to not use black core paper stock and why?

Ow so there isn't really an opportunity to get some decks? Besides the caridstry con decks themselves? Still, I'll consider going if I'm lucky enough to get a hold of an entrance ticket and the price isn't too high.
Harvonsgard wrote: I plan definitely to be there but tickets sell out fast so, I have to see if I'm lucky or not.
Would be great to keep each other informed if we go or not, at least I won't feel like knowing no one. That doesn't despair me tho, but I really want to give you those decks I promised. So much more fun to give then to take ;)
