Holographic gilded Legal Tender III in a laser engraved walnut Legacy case. X/400.
Soon were gonna need longer sentences to describe these than the post kb limit. I will check with admins to see if that can be done…

The legacy cases are nice for sure but the recent Crayon edition is the only one that I've pulled the trigger on

They look good from afar and in promo shots but on unbiased photos (like ebay listings or hsbc's post) I find them to look underwhelming. Certainly not that good to justify the price tag for me but it's an collector's item with high demand so, there is that.

An hour and 7 minutes in, there's 148 remaining. I keep going back and forth on these, but I probably won't let FOMO get the best of me.

Did you get the nongilded version of this deck? Personally I prefer the version that was printed by EPCC. This newer printer isn't up to their level. Colors are more muted, the foil doesn't pop as much, and they don't handle as well. Otherwise I'd be considering this Legacy edition too. Though, the wood box is neat, but not $125 neat.

I was surprised that the Crayon legacy was "only" $100 -- that was my limit and I had been intending to skip it due to cost

I only own Version II of the Legal Tender Holo, so I haven't compared them, but I've been content with just having that one. You've given me further reason to just stick with the one I have.

An alternative take from the KWP Discord: "The Tuck Case colors were redone to look more like money. The difference between the holographic elements and non-holographic was enhanced so that the holo really pops"

It should be noted that the discord.....is very fervent in its fanboyism.

I shook my head when KWP decides to make versions of Legal Tender Holographic lol
it's like - IS IT THAT NECESSARY to spews out V3? - like what's the difference
From V1 to V2 > the difference are significant: from fully foiled to strategic foiled - V2 is very close to what was promised during the KS campaign in 2016
From V2 to V3 > I don't see much difference EXCEPT the small fine print on the bottom that said: "V3"

I think V3 is simply due to demand. Jackson is, besides a very skilled and crafty illustrator, a smart business man as well. I doubt he would have done a V3 when there isn't a market to sell the decks.

Yeah, if he hadn't switched printers, this would have just been a new print run.

I am a big KWP fan, but as I have several v1 and v2 decks, I just don't feel the need to pick up any v3 decks. I would probably feel the same way if it was another creator that I collect.

Thank you so much for sharing! I have been wanting this deck for some time, and $7 is way too good of a deal to pass up, so I snagged one.

It's also worth knowing that KWP will be selling these at a later date gilded. Probably a much later date judging from the lead time it's taking Tally-ho slate to get gilded.
And no they are not foiled, the print is just colorful.

I'm going to add something here because I think it's important:
Jackson isn't a smart businessman because he always gets it right or because his instincts are impeccable.
He gets it right because he tries things, and if they fail, he tries to determine why, and then he tries again
but differently. And if *that* doesn't work, he repeats the process, or he moves on to try something else entirely.
He takes risks. But if they don't pan out, he keeps trying but, again,
differently.
Same with his designs. He's excellent at designing playing cards because he keeps doing it, assesses what seems to be working and building on that, and assesses what doesn't seem to be working and modifies to address that. He surrounds himself with good counsellors (like, for example, his wife). That helps a lot. But in the end, he succeeds because he keeps trying and keeps improving.
It's just a thought.

I do like how different KWPs decks are, but he desperately needs to hire someone to revamp the web site, I dare someone to discover a deck currently that they might want.
(you can search if you know what you are looking for)

It's so pink,'
I thought I had defective deck, till i went back to see the pics.
I think he was trying to mimic the holographic without being holographic. but I feel it looks like wine stained.
He does great work, but I think i rather have it just like the OG expert deck. I do like the stock and finish on these better though.

It is a flat render of holographic foil, so it looked like that haha. Plus, the colors can be utilized as one-way marking.
As per stock n finish, as expected from USPCC

That was exactly what he was trying to do. As Laito mentioned, it's a render of the holo foil effect. But didn't expect the outcome to be that pink though, now that you see the backs in a spread. Cardtopia also doesn't mention the foil/holo effect on the site as well.
Hmmm... I wonder how many customers who aren't familiar with KWP's foiled LT will think that their decks are defective. JR stopped selling 2nds and damaged decks on his own site as he got too many complaints from customers that their decks came damaged!
