These are from Michael Jordan's exclusive country club, Grove XXIII, so maybe just a bunch of rich people spec'ing a deck?

Clickbait strong with this listing, lol. Dunno what is funnier, the listing itself or the seller's eBay name. Dude's funny.

This seller is certainly on something. I get irritated when I see his listings, especially since I've been adamantly searching for Lotrek decks since I started collecting earlier this year and have a keen awareness of how much they are going for in today's market.

When I've completed my collection further in the next month or so, I plan on posting how I've gone about paying for decks where both buyer/seller felt it was a fair deal.

Yup, saw that peach this morning - along with the Arabesque that they figured was underpriced at 800 and bumped to 1000.

I just figured they were from the future - was hoping to ask them how the world turns out…

Dai Vernon’s estate auction in 2010 would likely be where he got them from:

But I do see things of much greater value going for a lot less than that ebay auction (not to mention that for the price the deck could at least have been used by Vernon, not sealed :)

Seller for sure. You should check his listings. Not only is he selling Lotrek's decks, but also plants and seedling. The most expensive: Nepenthes x Harryana! XLarge specimen in 5" pot!
$4,950.00!

Nepenthes edwardsiana 10x XXS Seedlings! VERY LIMITED!
$3,695.00

I'm no botanist but anyone here know if that plant and seedlings are actually worth that much?

The plants can be had at a much more reasonable price as seed or seedling, takes a long time to grow them large so he is charging mostly for the time they spent in the greenhouse - I would say overcharging, but that I will leave to botanists…

I used to grow orchids and those prices are insane for the orchids. Full stop.

That is not to say that for an astonishing specimen you might pay something like that, but it would be an astonishingly large specimen.

Didn’t look at the orchids - was just looking at the pitcher plants, but I do think its safe to assume that all the prices from that seller are either insane or fell through a wormhole from a distant future.

(Additional ramblings about orchids vs pitcher plants removed due to extreme irrelevance)

I won't be naming who this seller is because I don't think it's helpful to dox someone like that, however my understanding is they put items at a high price and then entertain offers people make. It has led to some crazy listings though and I hope buyers can make informed decisions when they come across such listings.

I think my favorite part is that they felt the need to charge for shipping - not that this is the first to do so, but I just noticed and couldn’t help but comment.
