7 backers pledged a total of $2472 on Nov 15;
0 backer pledged a total of
$554 on Nov 20.
How would that even happen? Do donations count as backers on KS? If not, then it's possible they've received huge donations from somewhere; if yes, then this isn't even possible. Something seems off here.

What if people pledged and backed out?

The graph shows negative for the 22nd, so I would assume it accounts for cancelled pledges.

Definitely strange.
Current total from visible pledges: $3173
Current campaign total: $6821
There are only two backers in the brick tier, so I don't think the difference is deck add-ons. They would have started with the brick or double-brick tiers, right? $3600+ in donations is a pretty sweet gig!

How would that even happen?
An existing backer could increase their pledge, right?

Yes, it can happen but usually it doesn't. Also, answering to your another post above here. Penguin, AoP, RPC, MM etc. do not pledge directly on Kickstarter. If they are interested, they will strike up a deal after the decks have printed and are either on the way to the fulfillment company or already there in the warehouse.
I have been fortunate to get some backers who pledged 500+ but then mostly had online shops on eBay etc., and wee looking to sell them. They were also big fans of decks with themes like Kalevala or transformation decks ( A Motley Pack).

Some confuse
instagram echo chamber for
card community.

I know that perception is a choice, but it still baffles me how different reality is perceived by some.

If one were so inclined, one could theoretically pledge on their own project with one's second credit card, even though KS 'forbids' the practice.
One could also then theoretically increase this amount.
Seeing as card transactions are not processed until the end of the campaign, one could then cancel the card or take the hit on one's 2.5% fee and one would have a fully funded project but would be paying for a portion of it by oneself.
For example the sum you see at the end of the campaign is almost never what is actually received because many backers cards decline and are never recovered. These dropped backers accounted for around €1000 on Fillide and I imagine it's a similar percentage on other projects. So if one had money to put into said project they may allow the payment to process to keep up appearances.
Personally I would never do it because my philosophy is if I can't find enough backers to fund the project, how will I ever find enough customers to buy the decks? However it is possible and depends on your approach to KS.
