But I'm not blaming, just showing how it is what it is.
Jody has worked hard on his end and that's for sure.

Trouble with Stickers:

I received two of my Gold Sovereign decks today. Since they were not in boxes this time, the stickers were put smack dab in the front.

For the sticker removal, I used my experienced thumb nail and finger nails to tease the sticker off. The one I have done so far was very difficult when I started from the bottom. I then attacked it from the top of the sticker and it came off. I still have a little work to do, but it came off fairly well just with a few minutes delicate work.

The sticker for the second deck came off quite easily when I removed the cellophane

For some reason, I thought the Gold Edition had gold foiled edges. I checked and they were not. A bit of gold sparkles is it.

One good thing was no dings to the tucks. They shipped just fine this time.

Jody, I really hope your faith in this shipping company isn't misguided. I would seriously consider using another company at any cost.

Seriously what is the, for lack of a better word, obsession with this company. Jody was told they're reputable, they're clearly not. Not sure why they're being used for the other Kickstarter still. I'm sure backers would rather wait a bit and get decks that are shipped safely with bubble wrap and in boxes, without dings and barcodes on them.

My gold deck just arrived - one big sticker and one small (but still too big for my satisfaction) dented corner - of course…

If I'm looking for a reputable company to ship collectibles like playing cards, and someone suggests a company, it's implied that they're reputable for shipping collectibles. This company may be able to ship, I dunno, like bags of flour or something without spilling them, but that doesn't mean I'd pick them to ship collectibles necessarily unless they have experience with it. And as far as I can tell from the forum posts, clear instructions were given and yet they're still shipping decks the same way.

Looks like he made an update on the project around 11 days ago which detailed a rather lengthy and costly process to repackage the remaining decks to be shipped, also with quite detailed instructions on how to remove the label which requires backers to do it themselves with no guarantee of success and at some cost and effort. Not great and doesn't address dinged corners or other damage.

He hasn't responded to any comments on that Kickstarter since that update, many asking for reshipment of damaged decks and uncuts.

He's definitely staying with this shipping company but says he will change his own process to match theirs, whatever that means. I feel for him, this cannot be a fun thing to go through and is probably costing him more than he made on the project.

That said I think we all know the worst thing any creator can do is go silent. I hope he goes back to responding to people again.

I have at least 1000 decks now, and perhaps a half dozen have arrived with damage major or minor (all due to poor packaging) - every damaged deck was quickly replaced by the company who sent it, regardless of how minor the damage.

I picked up my dominion decks from blackink website (only gold has arrived so far), emailed them yesterday, we will see what happens…

Some Gold Dominion orders got out with the old packaging. I am currently repacking the single decks with a corrugated box to protect the corners in shipping. Likely the fulfillment company damaged the decks when they handled them for shipping or putting those hideous barcodes on. It seems most of the damage was around the single decks in a reward.

Contrary to what most believe, the damages are minimal and will be fixed with Kraken.

Just to get back to the deck. Sticker and shipping challenges aside, I am really pleased with this deck. Dominion is a beautifully designed deck.

This was my point. Not responding to public comments (and you hadn't on Dominion in 11 days when I posted my last comment) means that anyone checking would have the perception that there are issues not being addressed.

It's just feedback, take it for what you will, but to me it didn't come across well and it's one of the reasons I dropped my $170 pledge for the Jolly Rogers decks. Saying "I can't keep track of comments" is just not a great look either, this is how backers communicate with creators and other backers in a transparent manner.

You are normally very helpful and must be frustrated with the issues you have faced on this project.

Heard back from blackink this morning - they put me on the reship list and said they hope to get all orders reshipped by end of october.

Be sure to reach out to them if you have received damaged decks…

I think it's pretty unfair to say Jody hasn't been responding to people who got damaged decks, I sent an email about it, got a pretty immediate reply and notification that I was on the reship list

Also playing a bit of devil's advocate here, I'm glad to see people trying non-GW fulfillment because I've been unhappy with a lot of recent decks I've had them fulfill

I said he hadn't been responding publicly, not that he hadn't responded at all. And now he has responded publicly.

Got my Gold Dominion today. Same packaging as the Red & Black but fortunately this time, no dents on the tuck (but still had the ugly barcode on the cello which was promptly and carefully removed)

Received my three decks today, sent in small cardboard box inside bubble wrap inside a bubble envelope. Content arrived in perfect condition and no sign of barcodes anywhere. Very happy, yaaay ))

My Gold Dominions arrived sans stickers and with the corners undinged. Totally happy with them.

I have a different story. I saw the gold version on FB sold by somebody and decided to buy it.
I received it a few days ago and while there wasn’t a bar code sticker, multiple corners were dented and I thought to myself, oh wow I forgot what happened to the KS shipment completely. I didn’t feel like complaining to the seller because it was my fault for not asking and assuming it would be in perfect condition.
I decided to check Jody’s website and the deck was still available so I went ahead and bought one. It is currently on its way.
Now reading this thread I guess I have a 50-50 chance of getting a good deck. Fingers crossed…

I think your odds are much better than that. Everyone on UC who had an issue likely mentioned it here, but not everyone who had a boring, ordinary, totally fine experience would necessarily bother to post that. Human nature. The default is that things work out okay, so we tend not to remark upon it so much because it's unremarkable. When things go badly, we're more inclined to share.

I didn’t know he had em back in stock. I wanted this set so I ordered the black and gold versions now. Thanks for the heads up supply still seems limited right now.

I just received a replacement deck and metal card. Packed in a box, and arrived in perfect condition without any barcode to worry about. Looks to me like the issue has been sorted out. Thanks Jody!
