Almost 10k to unlock the numbered golden seal...

And then the 2nd deck. The pair in this project is a MUST. One of the coolest decks IMHO in the latest months.

He didn't keep it as is. He listened to you big dummies and made it white face/borders.

You jerks and your opinions! Lol

I still like em, but purple woulda been cooler.

I thought he was keeping the purple? Hm.

I saw a black variant on his facebook which looked pretty great.

I wanted to go with that really dark purple variant, but couldn't get enough backers to support it. In the end I had to go with the version that compliments the first deck. Who knows, maybe the really dark purple variant sometime down the road.

With 5 days left and over 5K to raise before the second deck gets unlocked it doesn't look good. Oh well- I guess one Mardi Gras deck is better than none at all!

The changes in the second deck look pretty great to my eye, the colors are wonderful. I have a strong feeling this is going to be another of those decks that people passed on in KS and decide it's a must have in retail. The campaign is only three hundred and some change from the badass custom seal stretch goal. I hope more backers get on board soon. This deck is absolutely collection worthy and it's playable. Good stuff.

There really is a lot to like here.

I can only speak for myself, but I don't think too many would be upset if the custom seal was dropped in favor of the second deck. I have no idea if that would be economically viable, of course, but for me seals aren't that big of a priority.

+1 Seals are nice but not as nice as a 2nd deck.

+1. Would rather have the second deck over the seal.

Changes made to their structure almost always ends in loss of backers though. I don't think it would be a good idea to remove the seal stretch goal for that reason. Backers want a steady approach. It's one of the things that says "you can count on me." and that's important not to mess with. Once it's posted on the main campaign page, it kind of has to stay. The seal is very nice on top of that. I don't think this seal takes away from anything really.

It's about funding and visibility at this point, isn't it? Mardi Gras has come together in such striking form. (That's absolutely functional.) I really think if people see it, they'll want some. Hopefully there will be a big showing of backers supporting in the last two or three days when the ending soon list shows it off to all of kickstarter supporters.

I couldn't have said it better, Fes. The one thing I've noticed about this campaign is that when people see it, they back it. To that end I have a couple of cross promotions coming up (one with Spirit Playing cards). Every time I have cross promoted I have seen a significant increase in backers.
The reason the custom seal is unlocked at 10k is that it is far less expensive than printing another deck.
I think as we get into the last 2-3 days of the project we will see a big showing of new backers as the project becomes more visible on KS.

I am stunned that more of the collectors here aren't pushing the Mardi Gras decks past the $15k level so the second (Purple) deck will be released!

Only $4k is needed, but there are only 59 hours left to pledge.

I'll love adding the original decks I've pledged for to my collection, but those purple decks will be a lost deck if more people don't go for them too.

I've seen many lack-luster decks get printed; so I think it's a shame to not support these beautiful decks to their fullest.

Once again, I predicted these would hit far higher goals than they did; so I'll just have to be happy that the original deck made it for now.

But I will encourage the creator to start a new project, just for the Purple deck later.

I'm in as far as I would go on a single deck with a pledge for 2 decks + 1 brick + the coin addon. However, I do agree that I'm surprised these didn't go much further in the funding. They look terrific and it'll be a shame if the second deck never happens.

I just upped my pledge by a $100 to get closer to that second deck. I really like the purple and the art work.

Yeah I've added another on, if the 2nd one gets unlocked I'll grab a couple of them too, I really love the card back on this.

Good news for those like me that wanted the purple deck! Per KS update:
Since we didn't get to unlock the purple deck, I have decided to launch it as a separate campaign after this one has been fulfilled.

The purple deck being released as a separate campaign is awesome. I wonder if Dave will be doing additional changes to the artwork for V2 or will it just be the different tuck / card back?

I'm definitely going to change the jokers and AoS on the purple deck. I don't know if I'll be making any changes to the courts. It's hard to say at this stage.
