Looking at Kevin's site and saw some earlier designs. Decided to go to Art of Play's site to see what was available. When typing artofplay.com, I hit enter before I typed the "m"... That is a very different site than what I was looking for.

Yeah, sorry, I guess I could have included that in my post.

"Nothing compares."
"A new standard in premium playing cards."
I see the Buck twins are laying on the hype super thick again. It looks like these come with an outer box that contains two decks (it's too deep for one deck) that's fairly blinged out, but I collect and use playing cards, not pretty boxes. The tuck box itself seems nice, but it's hard to tell since we don't really get a look at a whole tuck. The courts are fully custom and look good, but a long ways from being a "new standard in premium playing cards" where "nothing compares".

And I've definitely seen better back designs than the red and gold heraldic theme they have going on here. But hey, there's custom pips with a custom pip layout. Do we get any innovative multi-colored foiling on the cards? Intricate die-cutting on the tucks? No? Well, excuse me for failing to see the new standard in premium playing cards being set here. I'm sure they'l be super duper "limited", though. . .

Well, I will compare them with Tavern on the Green, which sold for $9.99. They go with that price point, I am in. Raise it and I am likely not to be in for much or any. Which is why I like Theory 11. Good cards, great price. House wins.

I would pay as much as $12 per deck for these, certainly.
How do we know that render isn't a brick box? Looks more like puzzle box sized, rather than double-deck sized, but since there doesn't seem to any anything for scale in the render it's hard to tell.

We need to print a banana card...

These look pretty good! Some overhyping for sure, but I don't mind it as much because clearly a lot of effort has went to the design.

Courts don't appeal to me, but I'm digging the Coat of Arms pip design and the custom Aces...

I like the aces and number cards. I don't mind the design of the courts, but I don't like the King of Spades having the sword position of the King of Hearts...

I'm hoping that they will actually be selling single decks and not just a 2-pack for $30. Because I would probably pay $15 for what I'm seeing here but I do not want 2 decks.

Are there 2 colors? On Kevin's IG he posted a red back. On AoP's IG they posted a black back.

Instagram user @neemdog (

A new standard is coming from @artofplay ...
But I can't really tell whether there's really three colorways since he does photo edits all the time. Or probably there is, and the box is a half brick box with two sets

I lied, I am in for a brick.
TOO BAD IT'S LAUNCHING WHEN I AM AT WORK AND AoP IS BLOCKED.
Thanks Dan and Dave, can't even hook a local up.

Can't you set you phone for no wifi and get in that way? I mean if you don't have a meeting or anything when it launches.
