Another short campaign by DL Designs, after the recent Hounders, Playing Card Sketch Pad, and Chevelle debacles (some launched by her new husband James Palfreyman).

- I think this is an original design as far as a quick KS/Google search showed me
- Funding goal of USD$2000 in 14 days
- Titled as "Bonnine [sic] and Clyde Bicycle Playing Cards", but in the campaign it states Bicycle branding/printing is a stretch goal for $8000
- No mention of pre-stretch goal printer
- Only 2 cards + tuck revealed, no backs





The art is too simple and cartoony for me (given the context, perhaps rushed?), but even if I liked it more I'd probably stay away...

Seems like a big yikes.

Man, the king isn't even centered right. There's more room on the left side than the right. The art seems straight from those youtube poops that i used to watch as a kid :/.

They should do to this deck what they did to the actual Bonnie & Clyde.

So the pic of the back is finally there but there is nothing to look at really.

I'm considering fake-backing just to post "delete your account" in the comments sections.

almost as easy of a pass as any project associated with infamous scammer Natalia Silva (btw, just worth repeating because, well, I do want to give her all the exposure she deserves... she STILL hasn't updated on her outstanding projects and you can check 'em out for yourself here)

Anyways, I noticed that in the first update of this project, Diane writes:

I have talked to a few museums and have some pre-orders for this project. One is a famous Bonnie and Clyde Museum in Louisiana.

If this truly is the case, how low do you have to sink to be even give a second of thought about trying to scam museums... I'm frankly disgusted [BACON] and, for the sake of that particular museum she mentioned, I'm seriously considering to look up it up and send whoever might be concerned in such matters an email to let them know that this project reeks of fraud and they should be very cautious in forking over museum funds for anything from this creator as it's so obviously misleading to even include Bicycle branding in the project's title for decks they're supposedly going to be offering with that suspiciously low funding goal...

If it hasn't been made clear enough, stay away from this project. Soooo many red flags and, at that funding goal, there's absolutely no way that these decks will be printed anything close to the quality of USPCC as they're allowing their project page to mislead the public into assuming - that's if they'll even printed at all, which, with all things considered, I highly doubt...

I kinda doubt that she has contacted any museums. She really hasn't got anything to show them.

hmmmm... maybe worth shooting a quick email just to find out...? if nothing else, it would serve to expose her as a liar which I also think is worth consideration to potential backers - thanks for the link

And they have launched yet another deck now, Black Magic, under a fake Barclay Mountain Company account, doesn't Robert own that company?

yea, I *think* that one's legit as Robert himself had posted here, long before the KS mess between him and his ex, of the deck's design as it was still in the process of development.

Unfortunately though, I think the fact that his ex's super shady campaigns (as well as apparently the projects under his ex's new husband) are all running simultaneously as his own project, and due to the well-known ties he has to her as she had tried to fraudulently scam using his designs passed off as her own in the 'Hounders' project, is casting a pretty heavy shadow of doubt on the legitimacy of his own and perhaps backers aware of the issues are hesitant to wanna get involved...

Granted, this is all just speculation on my own part and my own personal theories - therefore, it can't/should not at all be taken as fact...

Yes, Barclay Mountain is my company. I started it at the time of separation because of Diane being half owner of the Tomlinson Playing Cards. In the divorce property agreement I obtained all ownership of the assets, however I prefer using the Barclay Mountain name.
I launched Black Magic because the artist was afraid Diane was going to use his artwork. A few weeks ago my ex contacted him and tricked him into thinking I wasn’t going to collaborate with him. This wasn’t the case, I needed to launch Apollo 11 first to ensure I get it printed and shipped before the anniversary in July.
With Black Magic, to be 100% transparent, I paid the artist $200 and to split any proceeds 50/50. This is a Russian artist who wanted to try designing playing cards.
FYI... I see that one backer magically boosted the Bonnie and Clyde deck up $500 today.

The guy reached out to me, sent me all artwork files. This letter you made is probably fake but it doesn't matter because I was only gonna launch the deck for him cause he asked said you disappeared.

Just to clarify Fil Reached out to me, when Robert shown interest in the Deck again I didn't follow through with helping fil with the deck. Fil asked me to help him, I had no knowledge of this person until he reached out to me and sent me all the ai files.

The back design is poorly stolen from Jamm Packed Cards excellent Wild West: Lawmen and Outlaw project, specifally from the Outlaw deck variant.

That is a very nice deck of cards, thank you for sharing that. Crossed Guns, Hats and Bullets are used in a lot of deck of cards and not just that one or mine.

Well turns out she is indeed scamming people based on this comment. I tried to give her a benefit of a doubt because of what was going on her life, but enough is enough, it's been long enough with no updates and now this.

It regrets me to inform all of you this, I’ve been talking to Diane and she said she would leave a comment or something to explain herself.

She’s refusing to refund the money and refusing to take responsibility of the project failing. She’s ran off with our money and I highly suggest, if you’re apart of ANY playing card forums and groups on Facebook. Make a post about Diane, at first she wasn’t a scammer. But refusing to give back the money, she’s a scammer.

Shame that people like her are in this amazing community!

Well, I am sorry the people lost money on this one but it is not like this was totally unexpected. This had all the signs of a scam from the get go.
