Gold Mandala

I found an artist that drew this deck years ago but never brought it to market. I purchased the deck thinking with a few adjustments this could be a decent deck. The items that I find to be problematic is 1) the name. It seems that Mandala has been usedby Luxx so it maybe appropriate to rename the deck. 2) The joker obviously can go without having joker wrote in the middle. 3) the white writing in the center needs to go. 4) The pips maybe to much on the courts and my thought is if you are going to do custom pips then why not do all of the pips custom. 5) It could use gold gilding ( its a white border deck though) 6) what about binary markings?
Overall what are your thoughts and advice on adjustments?

Remove the white line "cutting" half of the cards. Looks bad and not on same courts.
Fix coloring of courts. Half gold on courts looks bad. Remove circles on Aces except your "main identifier" ace.
New font for 2-A.
Leave unmarked.

I like the back, the box, the aces... I just don't see myself getting a deck with standard or standard-ish court cards anymore.
It needs to have fully custom courts.

+1
The court cards are really killing any interest in this deck for me. Custom pips are nice too. The back design is good, but I would probably have some suggestions, but the courts are the major issue for me.

Thank you for the replies. What adjustments to the courts would make this deck attractive? Completely doing away with the standardized features?

Fully custom artwork so that the court cards can't be considered standard in any way.

I will get this done this week and repost.

At the very least make the courts bigger! But I agree, these have potential and I'm excited to see what you come up with

Since Mandala is the theme, design the courts to fit the theme. At the very least change their clothes to match the theme. Just check out how Bicycle Dragons or RiffleShuffle die them

I took all of your comments into consideration and went back to the designer for adjustments. Since the Mandala is a figure representing the universe in Hindu and Buddhist symbolism. The designer did some research on Buddhist deities and discovered they conveniently had 4 heavenly kings. We used these for the 4 kings along with finding 8 more for the Queens and Jacks. Let us know what you think.

As a Buddhist, I really like this and the artwork. Keep going.

Thank you. We are also playing with the idea of a wrap around tuck.

These look really nice with all the detail put into these back, ace, and court card designs, but all that detail feels reminiscent of Theory 11 cards. Not to say that it's bad, but a bit overwhelming with all of the circles and lines.
