Oh, my stomach almost hurts from laughing. The Hydrogen deck certainly had rather mediocre courts that had nothing in particular to do with hydrogen, but this...this! Ahahaha, respirators on the courts!?! And some of them randomly holding fire! Maybe this could have been called the "How Grandma Went Kaboom" deck.

Greetings again fellow card lovers.

I thought I should pop in and say hello since my second kickstarter campaign launched. I'm honored someone even took the time to post about my second deck being on KS (even though I know you do it for all KS decks :D )

Although, I must say, it seems its getting destroyed... lol

If nothing else, I'm happy the deck was able to make you laugh.. lol. It is meant to be fun after all, and possibly stir up some high school chemistry nostalgia.

I don't know if I would say the H Deck courts had nothing to do with hydrogen however. When it comes to courts, I prefer them to be standard, so I stripped them down a bit and filled with them with the element symbol, and various atomic models.

As for the O Deck courts... I wanted to do something different and showcase different ways oxygen is used. Respirators and oxygen tanks seemed like a fun way to showcase that.

As for the kings, the fire wasn't random. A flame needs oxygen for fuel. The Bunsen burner in particular is a nice little nod towards chemistry.

Either way, thank you for taking the time to post about it, even if it is to make fun of it lol.

This reminds me of the prescription deck or whatever it's called.

Imo, the prescription deck is much more interesting. Plus, its orange and blue.

It really is night and day in the manner which some creators deal with criticism and interact within the community.

That's a compliment to you, elementalcards.

I think everyone knows who the "night(s)" may be in this equation...

I get the reference, but generally speaking when I think of oxygen, I don't think of fire. Yes, combustion is an exothermic oxidation reaction, but curiously enough oxidation doesn't require oxygen, though this is the type familiar to most people. Besides, even when it does involve atmospheric O² it usually means sequestration of oxygen, as in less free oxygen floating around to breathe. Either way, open flames and oxygen tanks in the same deck is impossible not to laugh at (or cry at, depending on your sense of gallows humor).

To be fair to you, I have no idea how you could represent most chemical elements in standard playing card courts without it looking silly to me. I'm picturing kings with balloons for helium. I imagine an artist who is also a chemist would do full custom to illustrate something meaningful about the element, which is probably the level at which I would be interested in the cards.

I also agree with others that it's refreshing that you handle criticism like an adult.

One might be allowed to dream... a full custom oxygen deck. That would be a breath of fresh air. :D

Not that we really need to cheer on normal behaviour; but agreed as well, nice to see people have a normal conversation besides different perspectives.

While its true oxygen isn't needed for all forms oxidation, its presence is needed for a flame. But that's neither here nor there, my only point was that the fire wasn't a random choice.

And I'm totally fine with the deck giving you a chuckle, in fact, I welcome it. This deck by no means is meant to be uptight and serious. I mean... The equation for photosynthesis written on the queens? What in the world?

And yes, coming up with ways to treat the courts for other elements has been the toughest part of this venture. As I mentioned, I much prefer standard looking courts to fully custom ones. A deck with illustrated courts as you mentioned, while would be beautiful, isn't something I'd want to do (and admittedly my illustration skills are lacking in that area).

Side note: King holding balloons?... I'm stealing that :P

Let us know when you get to uranium, that could be a cool theme.

Ha, Yes! I am often asked about the radioactive elements as well as gold. I look forward to both of them. I think they could be quite fun as well.

So that's what those things were on the Queens! I was wondering about that! Too small on my screen and my college biology/chemistry days are way behind. I really love that you're taking the trouble to incorporate the element into the courts. I like clever fun things like that. That makes the deck interesting and worth a closer look.

Hydrodgen was blah, but Oxygen shows potential for the series.Unfortunately my funds are sahara desert dry right now or I'll have pledged for it. Still, this deck and the Prescription decks are on my wishlist when they are released next year. Looking forward to your future releases.

Great News!
I have been informed that the Oxygen Deck is done printing and being prepared to be sent to Gamblers Warehouse for distribution. This means I will close the option to change your address, and you will have 48 hours (at the time of this update) to make any final changes you need to your address.

I am expecting Gamblers Warehouse to receive the shipment sometime next week and start fulfillment the week after, but I will keep you updated.

The bad news - for anyone who has ordered the H2O carat case, the factory is still shut down due to the coronavirus. I have given this a lot of thought, and I have decided that for those people who ordered the H2O case, I will send your cards separately from the H2O case. This means you will receive all the cards you ordered (including the decks that go along with the case), and I will send the case separately when it is complete. This will come at an extra cost to me as it is cheaper to send 1 large package versus 2 smaller packages, but I want everyone to receive and enjoy their cards as soon as possible.

As always, if there are any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

-Nick
Once again, thanks Nick. You being willing to do this says a lot.
