Wow im glad theres still people who remember! For this deck its a ran with a community artist focus instead of myself.Honeybee wrote: ↑Wed May 28, 2025 5:30 pm I liked the back of Seiga's first deck a few years ago and was excited to read "54 unique artworks from different illustrators in Australia" but what I see so far looks ordinary
I am now more interested in knowing who the AMAA community is
A search for the acronym throws up plenty of options but none of them seem likely
Frankendeck, sure, but you're also thinking of a semi-transformation deck where the pips are incorporated into the art.Pro-Pain wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 7:52 pm An artist collaboration deck, with the intention of showing off the works of each of the artists? Very nice.
I wanted to ask if the artists knew what card they were going to get, or if it was randomly decided. That 6 of Diamonds artist seems to be the one that knew what the assignment was, with coins being the equivalent of Diamonds, and there being six of them.
While I get that it is meant to be an art deck. I feel like it was a missed opportunity to have like a Frankendeck (Am I using the term right?) to combine the style of the artists, while also having them done in their style.
That way, you're combining the art with the playing card style.
Thats not my ebay haha I don't have it listed but i had a look at the account and I think its maybe someone I know. Thanks appreiciate it though
Yup youre definitely right it was a miss opportunity, that has been weighing on my mind. All of the artist knew what cards they were getting, 6 of spades, 4 of clubs should be the other 2 examples of artist that related more to cards.Pro-Pain wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 7:52 pm An artist collaboration deck, with the intention of showing off the works of each of the artists? I think it's also a good exercise for the artists. I don't know how experienced the selection of 54 are, but a part of that artistry is also knowing the medium and the audience. To create art in a playing card format is different to a standard commission, otherwise they would just be miniature postcards.SeigaLabs wrote: ↑Mon Aug 18, 2025 1:14 amYup youre definitely right it was a miss opportunity, that has been weighing on my mind. I was definitely very loose on the ruling, giving them freedom to submit whatever they felt. If I were to run something similar again ill be running it with a thematic and they have to create something relevant to the card they got.
