I have come so close on SJK's other 3 decks - they are better than many other decks I have but I must have been budgeting or something
This one is a DEFINITE BUY :ucstar:

These are FABULOUS. I might actually even pledge for the high SI price point this time.

Pips are too large and indexes are too small and hard to read, everything else looks really good so far.

I was just looking at this in anticipation
I am a bit worried now on seeing the back pictured below - I never considered a black border.
I am hoping there will also be an edition with white bordered backs so that they look like what is on the tuck which looks incredibly different (also pictured)
A no gilding option would be good too - I know gold might be good for the theme but they were also rougher/poorer times

Agreed. Hoping for white border & no gilding.

The black border was what I used for my prototype. I do have a white border version mocked up and to be honest it is more inkeeping with the era, though both look nice. Im happy to run a poll and get people's opinions.

Im happy to run a poll and get people's opinions but I feel most people will probably prefer the white borders.
For magic and aesthetic purposes, I always prefer when card front and back borders match.

Here is a mock-up for quick reference. There is a richness to the black back which I like. I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts.

Yeah me too. It is more fitting for the era.

I like the more recent one that matches the rest of the card.

I love the pips on this project especially. Very tidy and a fun deck overall. While I wish the coin had some more relief to the design, it will be a nice add-on. Halfway funded after just a couple of hours - well done, Stacey!

This will fund but I do not understand how some decks fund in multiples while others grind away.
Maybe my taste is out of sync or I just do not understand the market
As it is, SJK's target for this deck is half what Sardines was
I pray that we keep quality designers in work

That's nice to hear. It's such a departure from my usual style so I'm really happy with its reception to be honest. Lower price point and I've squashed the shipping this time as tight as I can get it (harder then you may think with all the new US tariffs) so it was always going to take longer, but we are drawing near the goal now so I'm thrilled. Thank you to everyone who has pledged so far. I'm really pleased.

Congratulations on funding :ucstar: As I mentioned on KS comments - maybe some 150%, 200%, .... reward goals next time to encourage more funding.

More variations/decks in a campaign is generally good too - maybe you could have offered the black edn too and it could have had the gold gilding but no aging of the faces while the other did and it had black gilding. I am just making this up as I type but the point is to encourage people to buy at least two decks.

Shipping is a real worry nowadays, maybe make sure there is incentive to buy more decks with value shipping - most places, sending 500g is the bottom level so 3/4 decks should not cost more than 1 deck

The days of combining shipping in that way for American backers are over, The new tariffs imposed by the American Gov are on the declared item price, not the weight. This is what the tariff issue means for UK creators. I could have added 5 variations on this deck; there would still be a tariff to pay for each one, as it no longer goes purely off weight. China is also dealing with this issue, so sadly, there is no way around it given that some decks are shipped from there also. An additional 10-15% fees must be added with each additional item; now the 'De minimis exemption' has been removed by the American Government.
