Copper Rarebits

Saw via the theory 11 Instagram account that they look to be releasing the Rarebit deck in a copper color. I'm on my phone so not going to bother getting the picture, I'm sure you pros can manage that.
Disappointing that they'd do another color change on this deck, as the difficulty in acquiring it was a big part of the fun and appeal. Guess they ran out of more creative ideas...

It would be nice to know the quantity of the copper "Rarebits" How many did they make for the restaurant?

As someone who didn't get the first one (with no chance of doing so) and would've liked to, I won't mind if they release a more easily attainable version.

...and just like when T11 announced the Black JAQK decks, Rarebit (the speakeasy here in Charleston) knows - or at least claims to know - nothing about it. I just called and asked for the manager and asked if they had the new 'copper' deck I had seen a picture of.

im in the same boat, liked the design a fair bit, couldnt pull it based on the price. However i think that copper & gold are a little too similar, this is gonna affect the prices of the original..

Gold? The originals are a greenish hue. Very different from what's in the pic. I need this deck.
Here's a pic I got from the web of the originals, not gold at all and I doubt the copper ones will have any negative affect on the price of the originals. My guess is that the folk at T11 finally took a look at their website and saw that 1/2 of their cards are sold out, hence the release of V2 White Gold Monarchs, teasing these Rarebits and stating that they're working on V2 Rebels as well. I just hope the Copper Rarebits can be bought outright rather than buy products worth $X and get a free deck like last time.

I love copper colored foil so, I find this particularly exciting.

What I see in the photo is fantastic.

Honestly, I never saw the appeal to the original Rarebit deck, aside from its "rareness". I could've gone down to Charleston to have a meal to get one of these decks when I used to live in Myrtle Beach, but the deck wasn't special enough to warrant the effort. Its a typical T11 deck: very attractive tuck box but disappointing cards, and I'm not blown away by the design at all. I'm even less interested in a re-colored reprint. Pass.

I have to agree. It's a tuck recolor, maybe not the backs since it's not shown, but you would think so - still - a recolor regardless, likely nothing more, I am almost certain.
Rare by design - if at all.

Wow. I had no idea you guys missed this.
Makes me feel a little guilty having more than one.

Don't feel guilty. Send me a deck and we'll call it quits.

I don't mind this. It's not a the top of my list of decks to stock up on, but I like the copper color. Then again, I've never had any issues with decks released in multiple color variations or unlimited versions of limited decks, so perhaps I'm not the right guy to comment on the Rarebits.

No, just do like the 52+Joker convention people that wanted did and visit the Rarebit ("speakeasy") here in Charleston and spend $100. Poof - you have a deck you can sell for more than you spent - in general. Disclaimer - I do have one...
Not only that, as I had hinted, the consensus was that the food is very worthy, and not too expensive, but a group of four people can easily get over that $100 jump if you try.

I was told a few years ago that T11 only prints their cards on the Web Press with USPCC (minimum 15,000 deck order required for Web Press). That being said, not sure if their relationship with USPCC allows them to print less than required minimums.

Lol. Mike, I think for those living not very close to South Carolina, it would still be cheaper to buy the deck on eBay than it would be to travel to the restaurant and rack up a $100 tab.
Plus, what if all four people sharing the $100 tab are all card collectors? I think Paul might be familiar with this dilemma.

Oh, I know. I am just saying that it is a contrived price, and there is nothing truly rare except for the price. No, unless it's just another eatery on King St downtown (like for me), it's not simply a matter of going and getting one. The problem IS that in all likelihood more than one person in our group of friends might want one - if you don't already have one. The other side of that one is that you can pay for your meal by selling the deck - once you have one. Surely not even reasonable to make a trip, but if you happen to be here, why not?
The Goss (French) Web press is a lot different from the Heidelberg (German-made) press, but essentially both make the same product. Of course, everyone has their opinions that colors their perspective and one thing IS certain - all of them make better decks than they used to, and that process or technique is going to continue to evolve for each maker, not just each piece of equipment. Paper, finish and lots of other things enter into the equation.

Chach is right, the foil on the first deck is green, sort of a lime green metallic. I was fortunate to get one of the first and will welcome the copper version with the hope that they'll make them available en masse so all can have one. They really are classy.

My beef: why South Carolina? I just wish a restaurant here in Boston were doing something like that. I love eating out and it would be fun to try to eat a hundred dollars worth of food to get a free deck.

In that case it comes down to pure charm and bribing. Or a street brawl in an alley after dinner.

I'm not sure why, but this pops into my head when I think of card collectors street brawling

Why not bring along a deck of Banshee cards to throw at each other?
Ninja card collector fight!
