Nice! Any chance of a look at the back and/or a few of the cards?

Looks interesting and well made from what I see so far but some more artwork would be appreciated. :)

I agree this looks like it'll be an interesting deck. I'm curious about it and would like to see some of the art on the cards. :)

Uncle's gonna LOVE these! One suggestion I'd make is to keep the index font consistent. The more legible the better. :)

You mean such as the K in this, would you have this as the sans serif plain font like the numbers?

I am awaiting a delivery of a physical deck tomorrow so I would say Tuesday 11th evening or Wednesday 12th morning (UK time) will be my launch day as I want time to photograph the mock deck for viewing purposes. The final deck will be printed with Legends so obviously will outweigh the quality of my sample deck (from MPC) but still it will be nice to see them. Thank you so much for your interest so far. The aces and the joker have a special design also...

I have already submitted samples and set up templates from Legends so everything is ready. :)

Yup, that's right. Keep the sans serif throughout all the indexes. :)

I like what you did with the suit markers and the fonts - and yeah - make the font consistent throughout the deck. A different set of colors for the suit marker area rather than red and black might compliment the blue/aqua of the rest of the deck's coloring. I would also suggest tightening up the font and the suit marker to a more vertical rather than horizontal alignment, so that the card spread while holding your cards does not need to be any widen than necessary.

I tried this but it just didnt look right. I have considered this already and you are right its a tough one because you can hold so many more cards at once if they are vertical. I will have a look at this but it really looks so much nicer this way. Hmmm.

This. I like this deck. But, unfortunately, the indexes are unplayable for any game with more than 2 cards in hand. I hope they will be rethink. For now, it would be a pass for me. The design doesn't just need to look good, it must be usable.

@Pixel Initiative - So why are the indices horizontal when they need to be vertical? You want to have as many cards in your hand. http://www.bicyclecards.com/news/story/ ... -squeezers

And yes your fonts need to be in the same style. Your "K" and "A" don't match. Number fonts to court fonts. Well, that is a grey area...

Hi,

ok I think I will rethink this.

Here is the image with vertical indices. Do you think this is a better resolve?

Found an error. Keep the thin Ace border on the top left. Make the 3oC and KoH the same thin border as the AoS Also keep the Black and Red box for the index of the cards. Just move it vertical. Funny how all your indices are white, but it works. Breaking the rule is fun...

Might I suggest your Jokers have a Black and Red box. Keep the white Joker font....

So the thin border like on my Ace card used on all cards, combined with vertical indices and also consistent font should make this right for the playability and "Bulldog squeeze" which by the way was great advice.

@Pixel Initlative - Yep that pretty much it and then you would have a functional deck. Next, we need to see your back of card. Go ahead and post it. You might surprise us...

Here are the jokers and the card back... Different colour so its easily recognised. Then the Jokers use an old boot for the fishing reference, no one wants to fish out an old boot...also the card back is the same either way up.

Also. I am halfway through amending the indices as we speak so we'll be on track for original launch date regardless of changes :)

I agree with Eoghann here. Keep it simple. The sans serif looks just fine. Liked the tucks okay but you hooked me, pun intended, on the faces. I'll be in!

This is so great to hear, it means a lot after all my hard work and I am really grateful for the responses, all advise is taken on board and I am working to get this perfect for use. As mentioned there is no change to launch date :)

Thats a lovely back design, the faces are not quite my thing, so i will probably pass, but its interesting for sure.

I think this is one deck that doesnt need the thinner borders treatment (sorry tom!), not all decks need thin borders (although most do), sometimes it boils down to proportions, and this one feels good at the moment.

I get what sprouts1115 meant though, he doesn't mean the full border just the difference that he spotted between the corner detail on my ace and other numbers. There was a slight difference and shifting the corner detail slightly will make it easier for poker players who want to peek at the card corners.

Oh i wasnt referring to that, i was talking about the general border of the cards. However since we are talking about it, i understand the reason for why the indices should be arranged vertically, but it leaves your quarter circle unbalanced. Im still not quite sure which version i prefer, but my feeling is that not too many people will be pulling this particular deck out for poker, but they get it more for the fishy design   so im kind of leaning towards keeping the original more balanced design.

Im feeling rebellious today :ugdance: :ugdance:

Yes, to be honest as I am changing them, they do not seem to balance as well throughout. I will make my decision soon but will upload lots of pics when were ready as its useful to have these opinions. Thanks again...
