The Eskimos!
In fact I think that I've already given three clues that reveal the theme of the deck.

I'm very happy to hear there's a new Lotrek deck on the horizon and that happiness is amplified by the news that it's part of a series!

Lotrek is one of a handful of designers I will buy a deck from sight unseen. I'm excited to hear about this. This is a good day.

Ooh! Heritage! I get it now. Please tell me you'll do a Spanish or Italian inspired deck.

No Italian inspiration this time.

There is a lot to say about the deck and the Heritage Trilogy in the next days.

Yeah, I know but the theme is totally different and mine is "ICONS". The "s" doesn't make much difference but I had decided on the deck's name long before "icon" deck appeared and I don't wish to change it.

I'm curious to see who will find out the theme/inspiration of the deck before I reveal it for real.

It's your take on the classic French design mixed in with the Napoleonic Empire.

The King looks Germanic to me , Possibly a reworking of the Rhineland pattern.

Hmm, Midas is an interesting guess.
That mustache though, it looks so asian. The crown also doesn't show the top so perhaps it is more of a hat. While it somewhat looks french I could also see it having asian or turkish hints. So I'm thinking more Ottoman Empire or Ming Dynasty, possibly a re-imagining with French court style to fit with traditional card theme.

could it possibly be based off the Persian Empire?

My guess is that the series is inspired by The Holy Roman Empire.800-1806 (ish)
first deck Germanic second Prussian and the last deck could be french (an Napoleonic inspired deck like Eoghann suggested)

I'm going to guess perhaps famous historical empires? Something like British, Ottoman and Mongols?

Could they be literally "icons"? As in inspired by the religious icons?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icon" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
An icon (from Greek εἰκών eikōn "image") is generally a flat panel painting depicting Jesus, Mary, saints and angels, which is venerated among Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, and in certain Eastern Catholic Churches.
Icons may also be cast in metal, carved in stone, embroidered on cloth, painted on wood, done in mosaic or fresco work, printed on paper or metal, etc. Icons are often illuminated with a candle or jar of oil with a wick.

The Byzantine Empire, also known as the Eastern Roman Empire, which carried on the state traditions of the Roman Empire after Rome was sacked, but which was more aligned with Greek-influenced culture, including the "Orthodox Church" -- a split from the Roman Catholic Church over a few key issues, including the use of icons as representations of the saints (but which were viewed by the Roman Catholics as idolatry.)
So, there. The Byzantine Empire. The Re-birth of an Empire, and the home of Orthodox Icons.
What's the prize again?

I'm sticking with the persian empire.
Dynasties that have been counted as instances of the Persian Empire include:
Achaemenid Empire (550–330 BC), also called "First Persian Empire"
Parthian Empire (247 BC–224 AD), also called "Arsacid Empire"
Sasanian Empire (224–651 AD), also called "Neo-Persian Empire" and "Second Persian Empire"
After further thought and considering the title, could it possibly be egyptian themed series?
