World Tour 5 Deck Set from Vanishing Inc, EPCC printed
Has anyone gotten the set yet? The VIM site doesn't show much of the card faces, just the backs and tucks. PCD have the Swiss and French decks on sale and shows more of the card faces. (The French deck is the Belle Cartes Ltd deck posted earlier) From what I can see, the courts and aces are custom. Would love to see more of the faces if anyone can share them here.
PCD Swiss: https://playingcarddecks.com/products/s ... cards-epcc
French:https://playingcarddecks.com/collection ... rds-epcc-1
Below is from the site itself:
https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/magic ... -tour-set/
The set comes with all five decks of cards in the series, and when all five decks are lined up, they create a map of the world highlighting the five featured countries: France, Switzerland, Mongolia, China, and Egypt.
But the World Tour Deck Set is more than just a trunk of playing cards: it's a story. The Great Ezra, a turn-of-the-century magician, traveled the globe and sent these decks back to you, each one with a note. All the ephemera: handwritten notes written on railcar stationary, coasters, tickets, and hotel paper...are included, to help immerse you in the spirit of the turn of the century, and how Ezra might have obtained each special deck.
The decks themselves are gorgeous, with iconography and hidden elements from the countries, culture, and time they come from. All printed by the Expert Playing Card Company, the cards have a durable, smooth finish ideal for shift work, gambling material, and sleights. Each deck has an extremely limited run of 1500 decks, and no more World Tour Deck Sets will ever be printed.
About the Decks:
Mongolia: This is everyone's favorite design. Modelled after a "Peace" symbol we located on a piece of antique Mongolian furniture, this deck's simplicity and color palette have made it a favorite amongst col lectors, and the most requested back design Vanishing Inc. have ever created.
Egypt: This back design is understated and two-color, with appearances by camels and the great pyramids. It is quite similar to card designs one would see on caravan rides that transported the earliest Egyptologists from Cairo to the Valley of the Kings.
Switzerland: Inspired by the iconic travel posters around 1902, this retro-back design advertises the Swiss alps, in saturated colors and bold text, alluring the beholder to explore the treacherous but beautiful scenery Switzerland offers.
China: This unusual deck boasts a back design that isn't a design at all. Instead, when all the cards are arranged in new deck order, in a grid, they create a mosaic of the Chinese character for Mystery.
France: The box is the main feature on this deck, with silver foil and a classic art deco design. The cards have a simple floral pattern that is neither flashy nor boring, but would blend in the sort of turn-of-the-century cafe magicians and card players would patronize during the period.
Decks also available separately. Each set includes an 5 decks of cards, a compass in a gorgeous wooden housing, a number of ephemera items and a carrying trunk.

Hocus Pocus has all of the decks available for 9.95 each and used to have a few of the limited box sets, but I think they sold out of them. Anyways, you can see more pics of the cards under the Card - Decks section.
https://www.hocus-pocus.com/magicshop/i ... hoice=0301" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The Mongolian deck has custom pips and matching jokers, but can’t twll about the courts, though they kinda look standard
The French deck has custom courts and is green and purple, but the back is one way
The Swiss deck’s back looks like an old poster from the early 1900’s which is exactly what they were trying to do...can’t tell if the courts are custom or not, but I am not keen on the back
The China deck, if you call it that, spells out the words ‘Shen Mi’ or ‘mysterious’ written in Chinese Calligraphy
The Cairo Deck has an interesting one way back and two custom jokers, but again you can’t tell about the rest of the cards from the pics.

Re: World Tour 5 Deck Set from Vanishing Inc, EPCC printed
I see them on several sites for around $10 each. With so much other stuff I am in for right now, these are not on my list. I have already pulled back on a few sets and will probably pull or reduce my orders on some others. I have to get at least a set of the new Ravns coming out today.

Re: World Tour 5 Deck Set from Vanishing Inc, EPCC printed
I have all of them but the China deck.
Mongolia is standard courts with w/ a muted orange/brownish red color scheme which I really like (matches the pip colors you can see).
Switzerland courts are icon-like images of things various cities are known for (Geneva is a cheese-wheel, etc.) Not very exciting and of course one way.
Egypt courts are one-way heiroglyphic characters. Lots of white space but I still really like 'em.
France is the same deck here with maybe a tuck update? (I have this one): viewtopic.php?f=8&t=11299&p=127695&hili ... es#p127695

I went for the briefcase, I thought the wooden compass was a cool touch.

Able to hint on the quantities? Like Bradius, I'm really stretched on KS now what with the slew of projects recently launched. Also had to drop/reduce a few pledges. Sept looks to be better for my poor credit card/bank account.willroya wrote:FYI - I have all 5 in stock, and will list them at a spacial set price soon, sans the box.

Here is the china deck: https://playingcarddecks.com/collection ... cards-epcc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I don't think they are going to sell out that soon, but I know they are somewhat limited.

Upon closer inspection I was disappointed to see the Egypt courts repeat by color. Just passing that along for peeps looking to make an informed decision. France and Mongolia are easily my favorites in the series.

Not a huge fan of the china deck but really love the France Mongolia Swiss decks w/e for Mongolia. Had to get all 5 though for that map image when displayed together.
