Sugoi!

It's strange, seeing an actually good looking deck from BOCOPO.

This style is not for me (a.k.a. I don't like these stupid cats), HOWEVER... The back and front border colors should match, I don't like the blue pips (should be black), these absolutely shouldn't be gilded, but worst of all are those ugly, lazy lines separating the court characters. This is becoming my second biggest playing card pet peeve behind the front and back border colors not matching. In other words I do not like this Bocopo deck at all. And lately I'm not liking a lot of their work but I guess they're becoming like many others (CPC, E, etc.): produce 20 decks fast and maybe 1 or 2 are half good.

6 out of 10. It's not a bad theme but just not for me.

They are CPC from the beginning, there are only 2 or 3 of their decks I put my money in...

The only thing I kind of like about this deck is the price and the printer(ah counting in the shipping cost the price is not so attractive even). Looks like they are just selling these cat themed deck to cat-lovers, aside from the theme this is just a deck with way too busy back (and looks aweful) and easy design (google Lucky cat you ended up with these cats pictures).

I must admit I do not like Bocopo in lots of different ways (they have a new account AGAIN), so maybe I'm biased. But I look at the project before finding out this is Bocopo again, and at that time this is an easy pass for me simply for the back design

I usually don't like the lazy, inorganic court joins either, but for some reason* I'm able to forgive them here. The character designs on the courts are just too cute. Look at the QoS's l'il daruma! If they put cat ears on it I would absolutely lose my entire mind. And I like the blue pips, personally.

That red gilded looks pretty slick, but a gilded Bocopo deck? Man, I don't know.

*Cats. The reason is cats.

It's not perfect. There was room for some different choices, but I'm in for an EB pair. Overall, cute, fun and... cats lol.

I don't think I have any BCP decks. They usually suck, BUT...

Cats. ≈$100 for a gilded set in box + 4 decks from USPCC? A good deal to me.

The back design is a bit "busy", but I like all of the other design aspects.

I went for the EB ungilded pair. I do like that red gilded deck, but having one gilding color match the back border and the other contrast with it seems discordant, and having one gilded and one ungilded deck in the set would feel weird to me.

I don't know why everyone craps on Bocopo so hard. Yeah, they pump out a lot of stuff that we may not like, but they've had a couple good ones in the past. I liked the Helius/Luna/Esther series, mostly for the unique tucks, but another thing they do well is Cat Decks, and like, everything is USPCC printed-- and they usually have pretty reasonable pricing schemes, something that's become a lot more rare.

Not sure I am going to back, but I do actually like these, I agree the court transitions are lazy, but the designs themselves are neat.

My only qualm is, it looks like there are two back designs shown, or is one of them a gaff card? There's one with a honeycomb pattern, is that a gaff?

Yeah, I got thrown by that too and had to go back to reread. The honeycomb-patterned card is what they're calling an "ad card," but you could call it a gaffe or art card. BCP's used those for illustrations previously. So far as I can tell there are only the two back designs, which are the ones rendered on the backs of the tucks.

Thanks for your support to Bocopo, honeycomb pattern is the only one and only back design for the Cat Deck. The other one is the ad card on which may print deck profile or some Bocopo information like facebook instagram etc.Image

Apparently, now there's this, a limited version with a new tuck box, no change in the inside:
Dear Backers,

Thanks for backing our Bicycle Maneki Neko Playing Cards. As our campaign has been half way through, we want to introduce a Kickstarter Exclusive Reward: Maneki Neko FOIL EDITION to you guys.

What makes it valuable is that there are only 388 decks produced and Signed and Numbered by the artist himself. You might wonder how this deck is different from our regular red gilded edition. The shining and foiled tuck case is the answer.

Isn't the gilding on the other red-backed deck red instead of gold?

So with all the drama going on with Bocopo, I decided to drop all support for them and asked for a refund on this gift set. Told them that since plagiarism has been evident in half or more of their decks, I will not support their business and would be ashamed to send their products as a gift for friends.

They refunded right away, at least they still have the integrity to do so in a quick manner.

Peculiarly, using the photos of this deck on their Instagram (wasn't exposed to be a copied work yet), Bocopo addresses the copyright issue three hours ago:
For our design with copyright disputes, I would like to express my solemn and sincere apologies to the vast number of friends who pay attention to this matter. ⠀

Every idea is worthy of respect. I apologize for the harm done to players who love cards and the original author of the arts because of our lack of rigor in auditing and creation. ⠀

In the past three days, we have been meeting to find the best way to make up for it. We have reorganized the design department and punished the relevant designers. ⠀

In our future work and creation, we will also require ourselves to strictly review every design of the work with higher standards to avoid the recurrence of similar things. ⠀

We will continue to rectify ourselves in the coming months, bring you new designs and different actions. I hope you would continue to give attention and support, thank you very much!

Not trying to necropost but I’ve been trying to find a red gilded deck and might have found one but it seems from the pictures my ‘dealer’ sent me, the red gilded deck does not have a numbered seal.

Does anyone who owns the red gilded one/gold gilded blue tuck one know if they are suppose to have seals? Thanks

A little necromancy never hurt somebody - see Dr. Strange, haha.
The black tuck box gold gilded ones have no seal, only cello.
The Bicycle branded tuck box gilded versions come with a seal xxx of 300.
