MASCHERATA LPCC live on KS

MASCHERATA Playing Cards

Image
MASCHERATA is the new deck by Emmanuel Valtierra Illustrator (EVIL) which is inspired by old illustrations of masks and modern renaissance style disguises. This is also the third installment after ANGELOLOGIE and DEMONOLOGIE that uses this colored-handmade-engraved type of art. One last deck is remaining in this series set to be launched in a future Kickstarter campaign.
Image
All the chosen masks were carefully selected to represent their suits. For the Kings we selected imposing masks like the plague doctor, my favorite, the Queens are beautiful female masks, for the Jacks we have animals to illustrate the cards and finally for the Jokers we have some cool masked jesters ready to entertain the public.
Image
For the back of the card, we have chosen the green color to be dominant. This is because we want our 4 decks to have a different color. We already used red and blue for our previous decks.
Image
Previously, I had the values of each card inside a box to resemble the old books first page letters but I decided to erase them and this way will be easier to identify while playing with them.
Image
All the illustrations were made by hand and retouched in Photoshop.

THE CARDS

Just like the last 2 decks, this one will be printed at Legends.

52 Playing cards
2 Jokers
Custom back card design
Hand drawn illustrations
Original tuck box

ANGELOLOGIE & DEMONOLOGIE

There are a few decks left from my previous campaigns, ANGELOLOGIE & DEMONOLOGIE, the first two parts of this series of decks. Make sure to get them if you missed them. Printed in LPCC.

DICE

The dice will be molded in "Plasticos de Mexico" in 2 different colors, black and white. Instead of points, we selected some symbols from the renaissance times. You can see the value of the symbols at the bottom of the photo 1 - 6 (left to right).

Are the previous campaign decks going to be available as add-ons in this new campaign?

Not as Add ons but there are 2 different tiers in which you can get them along with the new deck. Limited amount

Ooo... the artwork is interesting! Although I'd like to point out that the design of the indexes are not the best for readability.

I'm probably in on this. Demonologie is one of my favorite decks period.

Thanks a lot!
About the indexes, I normally focus more in making an art collectible than making a comfort deck, though they are fully playable

I wish the creator luck in funding but to me, this is way too similar to the previous decks.

They are variations on a theme, but no more so than someone that offers the same deck in multiple colors or a set of decks like The Planets. EV is one of my favorite artists. Art wise they are remarkable, and I will happily back any deck offering he has.

I suppose to each his own. The other issue I had (particularly with the Aztec and Egypt decks) is how they handle. LPCC where Daemonology and Angelologie were printed were somewhat better but MPC was just bad.

I get that. This is where I differ from some other collectors in that I collect for the art of the card, with handling, while important, definitely not a high on my priority list.
