I wanted to introduce myself to this forum community which I only recently found out about (unfortunately).
I first got into card collecting and magic about 10 years ago — I was really into it for about two years, then gave it up. I only recently got back into it about a year and a half ago. I can't believe how much I missed out on during that time!
I feel as though the card community really exploded since then with so many different avenues to explore — not to mention the huge amount of playing card design and variation.
Seeing all of this really inspired me to design my own deck of playing cards about a year ago. I have a background in print graphic design, and worked in the industry for 4 years before deciding to go back to school to become a science teacher. I have been teaching science to middle schoolers for the past 5 years now.
It was my love of cards, science, and, my graphic design background that led me to design the the Hydrogen Deck currently on kickstarter — which I'm sure many of you have already seen. I won't link it here, as I plan on creating a new post in the appropriate area.
So yeah, that's my story. I look forward to getting to know some of you.
I look forward to learning more about your deck and plans for future ones as it seems quite ambitious to be tackling the periodic table, one element at a time lol
