I don't like how the limited decks are set up at all. My solution ... stick with the standard decks.

I've been having a hard time getting VANDA to respond to me just to deal with a deck I ordered that arrived damaged. So I'm certainly not going to throw 170 at a 4 deck "membership."

I think this is what's getting people -- the membership slot on its own doesn't really seem to be worth anything, since you'll still have to pay for each of the nine upcoming decks [MURRAY]

Also, in the email you sent out, it says that the "club benefits" include "6 standard edition Centurio decks" which makes the price more palatable I guess, but is that right? The info in this thread says otherwise :? And then... is each new design also going to have a LE, LE proof, and 2x (6x?) SE? Because I'm even more hesitant to drop so much money knowing there are effectively nine more 4+ deck purchases in the future... and honestly, that shipping isn't included in any of this leaves a bad taste in my mouth

Either way, though, I'm not interested in lots of the same deck. Will there also be a set box available to hold the standard editions (like Planets) or is that only for the limited decks?

Re: Vanda Centurion Club + Centurio deck ...

Apparently there is some confusion around this concept of "membership"...

First of all, there is no "membership fee" ...when you back the club tier, you're paying for
- 2 limited edition centurio decks (valued at ~$40 each = $80)
- 2 standard edition centurio decks (valued at $19 each = $38)
- outer box packaging for the complete set (valued at ~$40)
- member coin (valued at ~$15)

in additional to these you're securing the option to purchase a limited edition deck for each of the releases in the series.

For the subsequent releases, you won't have to back a specific tier or race to grab a spot—you are guaranteed the option to purchase the LE deck if you choose (you can also opt out if you choose, in which case your unclaimed LE deck will be sold through auction on the vanda website similar to the remaining planets LE decks that have been auctioned).

The email did mention 6 SE decks and only 1 LE deck but after getting some feedback I've decided to change that to be 2 SE decks and 2 LE decks (one being a proof deck #0000) and lowered the tier cost a bit as well from what was initially planned when there were 6 SE decks included.

The special pricing on additional SE Centurion decks will be during the campaign, or afterwards through backerkit

Again, you are not paying a membership fee or prepaying for anything. Everything you're paying for will be shipped as part of this specific project.

To put the value into perspective in comparison with the planets campaign, the LE/SE deck concept is exactly the same except that the centurion club LE decks will be even more limited to only 100 (instead of 500, as was the case for the planets). The planets LE decks have sold through auction on vandacards.com for as much as $111 (Mercury LE) with an average price point closer to $45-50 per LE deck. The complete 8 deck planets LE set has sold through auction for about $350-375 on average, and again there were 500 total LE decks available to form full sets from.

Happy to answer any additional questions.

Also, Scott, I apologize for the delay in responding to your email. I had a full replacement shipment all set to go and then just saw your email saying you received the original package containing the damaged Eclipse deck. We will ship out the replacement Eclipse deck this week.

Thanks,
David

Another thought...perhaps I should just remove the set box that's included with the tier and offer it later as an addon...this may clear up some of the confusion around the cost of the tier...

EDIT:
So, after looking at the numbers a bit, here's the resulting club member tier:

$125 — Centurion Club Member
- 1 LE Centurio deck (#2-100)
- 1 LE Centurio proof deck (#0)
- 2 SE Centurio decks
- Member coin

The #1 member spot will be a separate tier for $165 and will include a 2nd LE proof deck #0.

Subsequent released decks in the series will not include a coin and will be priced at $99 which includes:
- 1 LE deck (#2-100)
- 1 LE proof deck (#0)
- 2 SE decks

same perks for members:
- special pricing on additional SE decks
- special discount at vandacards.com on other products
- option to purchase any additional released special limited edition decks (similar to pluto mini deck or stories jumbo deck)
- optional addon of outer packaging box for complete set

I couldn't care less about these tiers being discussed and just want 1 of every deck in the series. Is there going to be a tier for that during this campaign or do we have to pledge for each KS one at a time when they are launched?

As I mentioned, that's exactly what the member club tier is...you won't have to pledge for any future campaigns—there will be a way to directly purchase each release as a club member. The membership locks in your option to purchase the LE decks for all releases in the series.

Thanks,
David

So a $125 pledge up front right now will get me all the decks in the series? Where I get confused is when you use the word "purchase." I don't want to purchase anything else. For $125 I would expect to be able to own the whole series, no? What am I missing?

$125 gives you everything he listed earlier:
- 1 LE Centurio deck (#2-100)
- 1 LE Centurio proof deck (#0)
- 2 SE Centurio decks
- Member coin
PLUS first dibs on PURCHASING subsequent decks matching your number.

So the answer to your question is: No, you can't buy one of each in the series immediately.

That sucks. And Jesus, this is unnecessarily confusing. Screw it, I'll just wait until all the decks are made and buy them in the aftermarket. Which is too bad because I wouldn't mind backing the projects but unfortunately I don't have a PhD to keep up with this. All I want is 1 of each deck. No coins, no special serial number, nothing but the decks. Is that too much to ask?

Vasta read what Vanda wrote

There is no all encompassing tier for the ten decks. If you want all decks you will have to pledge $125 plus nine different $99 pledges for a grand total of $1016 to get everything hehehehe

To me this is the easiest pass of the year but good luck on the project nonetheless

If you aren't interested in the Limited Edition decks and just want one each of the Standard Decks, then you can wait until the final campaign and purchase them all as a set for ~$190, but that might be a couple years away, depending on how quickly we're able to create the rest of the series.

Yes, you can order them individually as well during each campaign but he was asking specifically about ordering the whole set at once.

I am personally digging these decks, and have real high hopes for the series! Ready to snag up a member tier. Too bad the #1 tier is reserved for its own tier at $40 higher price, but with an extra proof deck.. Ah oh well..

@davegk - If a person is the #1 backer for the entire campaign, but chooses the $125 member tier, that person will be locked for #2 number, correct? The numbers will be shifted down by 1 until the backer in the #1 tier is accounted for?

Correct...the lowest number you can receive in that tier is #2. If the #1 tier is unclaimed then those decks will most likely end up at auction on our website later on.

Cool thanks!

I was hoping the #1 tier didn't have the extra proof deck, then I would've considered going for that (even if it had an extra $10 tag increase or something similar to what you did with the Stories campaign).. :)
Guess I'll have to try to settle with the lowest number I can get from the remaining 99!

It looks like two standard decks come with the membership tier. How will those be numbered? Just random above 101?

Correct. We may try to include low serials on those to club member rewards (#101-300)...perhaps even match your member number (so member #32 would receive LE deck #32 and SE decks #132 and #232)

I think the one that went for the #1 tier was #2 or 3 backer, as by the time I returned to the funding page, the #1 tier was taken along with 2 slots on the $125 tier (one of them being myself).

Nice! as I have some personal connections with #5, I wouldn't mind receiving all decks with a #5 on them :D

I backed the member tier, but i'm not sure about some things:

"- 1 LE Centurio deck (#2-100)
- 1 LE Centurio proof deck (#0)"

means i get 2 decks with the white tuck so 200 are made of them ? (KS page says: "Member tier only -100 decks produced" )

Shipping fees are not included in the club member tier, how will these be collected ?
