Inspired by old Aztec art I bring "Aztec Codex playing cards. This time I redesigned the deck to give it a new feel. My art and knowledge has also improved a lot since 7 years ago when I first released it but in essence the deck is the same one that everyone liked and loved.

Just had a look at your preview page. Looks really good but I would have liked at least one clean image of the card back without it being partially blocked. It would also be nice to know which card stock and finish LPCC will be using. Other than that, very appealing deck.

Also, will any of your older deck be available as add-ons rather than in package deals? It doesn't really tempt me if I have to buy decks I don't want in order to get ones that I do want.

About the decks being get separately, you can do it, not with all of them but there is some variety on the add on section.

The Japanese Scrolls. I didn't want the other MPC decks that came in the package deal so was happy to see it was available as a solo option. Looking forward to seeing what stretch goals you have.

The Luchadores is available with the "Mexican collection" but I do not want to get 2x of Aztec codex and Loteria Azteca to just get the Luchadores deck. Is it possible to please have the Luchadores as a standalone add on? Thanks!

I don't think that's the same deck.

shunterino is correct. That's just a Bicycle deck going by the same name.

The thing about luchadores, I have it so limited that is not worth creating a whole add on section for it. I'll be happy to sell you one on the side when the campaign is over. If that works for you, hit me up before shipping time and it is all yours.

Now live: Aztec Tarot

Previously, I created 2 Aztec themed cards. Aztec codex playing cards and the Aztec codex Loteria. With the Tarot deck, I will close this cycle of Aztec cards.

Story
My name is Emmanuel Valtierra and I'm a playing card designer. I normally create regular decks to play poker or other well known card games but this time I wanted to do something different. This is how I came with the opportunity to illustrate this beautiful TAROT deck.

Besides designing cards, I'm a "Tlacuilo" or Aztec Painter/Illustrator. Combining both skills gives me the capabilities to create a project like this. Previously, I created 2 Aztec themed cards. Aztec codex playing cards and the Aztec codex Loteria. With the Tarot deck, I will close this cycle of Aztec cards.

MAJOR ARCANA

While making the designs for the major arcana, I tried to stay as faithful as possible to the original art. All the elements you see on a standard tarot card will be found in my deck but with an Aztec codex touch.





MINOR ARCANA

For the cards 1-10 I followed the rules I used for the major arcana but for the last 4 of each pip I wanted to have more freedom with the designs. Instead of page, knight, queen, and king, we will have Aztec monsters, warriors, goddesses, and gods.






THE DECK

At the moment of the campaign being published, 75% of the cards art is done. The deck will have the 78 cards along with a small tarot guide. The design of the tuck box is still in development but you can see some of the conceptual art for it. The case will be most likely magnetic but it could change (for better).

I will keep you informed with the deck art and design as often as I can.
