Battle of the Gods KS

Unread post by jerichoholic »

New deck coming soon to KS from Max & Nick Rendall. Really interesting concept and art combing the themes of the 4 elements and 4 mythological cultures featuring their unique scripts on their suits and custom pips and art throughout. These are USPC printed on a premium stock and traditionally cut.

Not feeling it.

Reminds me a bit of the "Different Deck" series and I do like a deck with typographic elements.

Funny, I was also reminded of the Different Deck. Even so, and despite the fact that this has an appealing typographic element to it, I am nonetheless, like Harvonsgard, not feeling it.

i like that all of the 'pips' on the number cards are different. i do like the courts. what i don't like is the card back. i don't think it matches the rest of the flash art/tattoo style of the deck. i also do no like the glossy tuck with no embossing. not sure what their price point will be but it probably will not be low enough for what is offered. in its current state, with the plain tuck it should be $10 or below imo.

I do like when people try something different, but this does not tickle my fancy.

I like the court, tuck and pip card art and design. card back is not for me at all. at $21 EB and $25 regular price, not a chance.

The Card Guy just did a preview of the deck. Link below. I like some of the things. The back design does not fit the main artwork in my opinion. I do like the hand-drawn aspect of the artwork, but i too am not feeling it for this one.

I just read the other comments and see I am not alone in my issue with the choice of the back design. My guess is the design was chosen to work with a planned magic routine.

I grabbed a single deck EB for £15 shipped with the idea to add more decks after but right now I will leave it at a single deck. I really do like those card faces though!

I mentioned it in my review too. I think it's really the one knock on an otherwise really interesting deck. The number cards in particular are fantastic I think. But the back design just does not really match the style at all.
