I haven't backed any of his works since Botanical, after finding out about the copyright infringement of his subsequent campaign. Even the joker on the Botanical campaign was stolen, which I found out later too.

FYI, there's rumors of a new Vittoria campaign in 2024 which will probably be similar in theme.

I really don't take that as anything but a negative criticism, due to the fact that this guy explicitly says he uses designs he purchased off Vecteezy, and has been caught red handed multiple times.

Plus, if you look at Vecteezy, a lot of images there are AI generated.

So he bought AI generated images from a website, and changed their hues to one color to hide any weird parts of the design, and make it harder to reverse search the art.

It's got sus written all over it.

And his last campaign hasn't even shipped yet, which he addresses on that KS's (Spooky Pumpkins) update.

Isn't this guy infamous for using new campaign funding to pay for the shipping of the previous one?

Also, from a design perspective, the color theory is just whack. You can tell the guy is not an artist or a designer.

Whatever.

People back his stuff, even though all his fraudulent tactics are out in the open. So it's on them if sh** goes sideways now.

I still do sometimes haha

I would say the only thing in common the two styles have is that they're vectors.

SPIRITS is more of an illustration style, and Masque is realism that has been vectorized.

But alright, I won't take it as a sleight from you lol.

I bet if he didn't adjust the hue to a singular color, they would look for different in style.

Just look at how many colors there actually are in his. He just threw the images into Illustrator and pressed Image Trace. Lol

Maybe what you are trying to say is why I jumped on spirits when I came across it, but I have no affinity for masque...I dunno.

Awe man! But I love simple color pallettes! Lol

looked at the campaign and where do i even start?

perhaps on a positive note. i do like many of the court characters. i also like the 2 piece tuck design that removes the mask from the lady's face when taking of the outer tuck.

it pretty much stops there. in the very first picture of the campaign. it shows a court card, the tuck and the card back. not any 2 of the 3 look like they belong in the same deck let alone all 3 for a cohesive design. the back itself, i just don't care for on its own. i guess i dont like some of these ''classic'' design styles. they look more at home on a bandana. again, i like many of the court characters but all of the different monotone colors for each court just adds to the mish mashing of stuff in this deck. is suppose if there is an overall theme, the theme is that nothing matches. while the courts have a wonderful depth and shading, the aces are just flat. all of the indices being in a black rectangle looks somewhat like 2 stickers stuck on each card. AND... the box set looks like black cardboard with cutout Micheal's glitter craft foam glued on it.

i think that is the most i have picked out of any one campaign and i probably missed some things. i also, did not repeat any of the critiques stated above by others but i am also less picky about where or how the art came about.

Ah... I see it now. But I can't do art either so I don't know how the light sources etc work, maybe he isn't too adept yet as well to know about this? We all got to start from somewhere to hone our skills. I will watch this project to see how it goes. I cannot unsee the King now.

That would be fine of he hasn't already had more than 5 Kickstarter decks, lots canceled, and some taken down for copyright problems.

It makes me angry as someone new to the scene, who has had to prove himself constantly, yet this guy's gets a pass regardless.
