"LAST HOURS " FOSSIL Playing Cards by Emmanuel Valtierra

Unread post by labalaenlabiblia »

A Tribute to Dinosaurs
For millions of years, dinosaurs ruled the Earth. Today, their fossilized remains give us a glimpse into their ancient world. Fossil Playing Cards is a premium deck dedicated to these prehistoric giants, featuring beautifully illustrated dinosaurs and their skulls.

Each card showcases different dinosaur species, from the towering Tyrannosaurus rex to the strong triceratops. Designed with precision and respect for scientific accuracy, this deck is perfect for dinosaur enthusiasts, card collectors, and anyone who appreciates the artistry of prehistoric life. This deck brings those legendary creatures back to life through detailed artwork by real paleontological illustrator Bruno Salica.

The Artists
Bruno Salica – Bringing Dinosaurs to Life
Fossil Playing Cards proudly features the work of Bruno Salica, an Argentine illustrator whose talent has been recognized on an international scale. Salica’s work has graced the cover of the prestigious Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society from the University of Oxford, marking a historic first for a Latin American artist. Collaborating with Belgian paleontologist Christophe Hendrickx, he has illustrated South American dinosaurs with scientific accuracy and artistic mastery. His dedication to depicting Argentine dinosaurs with precision and depth makes his contribution to this deck truly extraordinary.

Emmanuel Valtierra – A Modern Tlacuilo Bringing Back History
Renowned Texan artist Emmanuel Valtierra brings his deep passion for history and storytelling to Fossil Playing Cards. Known for his mastery of the Aztec codex style, Valtierra has created an impressive body of work, from illustrated books to award-winning playing card decks. His love for history shines through in every project, aiming to educate and entertain new generations through art. With acclaimed works like Codex Valtierra, Aztec Tarot, and collaborations with DC Comics on Aztec Batman and Blue Beetle, he has established himself as a leading creator in the playing card world. Having designed over 15 unique decks, Valtierra brings a wealth of experience in blending history, culture, and design into collectible works of art.

I am both drawn to these and a bit repulsed by them too for some strange reason. I personally find that back design hideous.

Not a fan of the color combos, especially the backs.

But this is still way better than what's been released since E's Jurassic Park deck. What a let down that was. Awesome tuck, horrible skeleton heads for courts.

Wishing this deck all the best and draws more dino lovers into the hobby. :ugdance:
