Another amazing-looking (so far) deck to be produced by Jackson's Kings Wild company.
I don't know who the new artist is yet, but it looks fantastic.
Originally it was going to be called "alvus" from the latin for "beehive"... but apparently that word has other "unpleasant" connotations... ... hence the "Hive" deck
No word on whether this deck will be Kickstarted or regular retail...
A very interesting deck. The word "alvus" conveyed a sort of ethereal meaning to me (before I knew what it actually meant). Thinking it was derived from the word "alba" meaning "dawn". How wrong I was, haha.
I love the Tally-Ho-esque back design. I'll be buying this one. I don't normally say this but I think it would be cool if it was released with a red pair. Now. Not 6 months from now.

Although I'll be in for both, like this one better too Volantangel.

I have to disagree guys...
Not that the design on this Hive deck isn't great. It is, from what we've seen so far, and i'll be buying them for sure. I can't really say which i like better yet.
But the Army deck is going to appeal to a HUGE market, many of whom don't care much about cards, just because of the military theme (and of course the beautifully executed art).
Jackson is showing both his artistic and his marketing genius on that one. Not to mention all the other military branches will follow on the heels of Army...
I think both decks will do fantastic and of course more to follow. I asked Jackson during the Sherlock campaign about the sequels to the Army deck.. his response was:
Creator Jackson Robinson on January 7
@wwpierce
Yes, if all goes as planned:
March - ARMY
May - AIR FORCE
July - NAVY
September - MARINES plus a surprise!

I'm sure it will do really well but personally I likely will not be backing these.

All of the US military services guard their trademarks and copyrights vigorously. USMC legal recently dinged me for a trademark infringement...for using the globe & anchor logo on a one-off yo-yo I'd made and advertised for sale on a retail site. Hope the licensing fees are not too high for these new decks.
Jackson's in motion right now, I'm sure everyone will hear more about it soon as he's done. I"m sure he'll comment more soon.

Whoa! First Paul and now Jackson. EPCC is making some serious waves. I love the Exquisites, and can't wait to get both new decks. Maybe some competition might cause some changes at USPCC (lower minimum deck order, even better quality...?).

Ah, most excellent! I love it when they put together a deck "just right"! Truly looking forward to it...

I agree, th4mo. I think the military themed series will have a very large appeal, and will attract many others besides playing card collectors. I'm a collector myself, and have been a fan of Jackson for a while now, but I know a lot of people who aren't collectors who will probably be interested in this series due to military connections (actually, it's probably more difficult to find anyone who *doesn't* have a military connection here where I live). I plan to pledge for all the decks in his military series, but I particularly can't wait for the Air Force and Navy ones.
I also think Jackson is making really smart choices. All the decks he's designed so far have themes that have wide appeal.
Nice one, Ivan, and nice stuff, too! Brendon should do well...
