I'm actually liking the card back. Interesting pip design from what's shown in that photo. Wonder who will be printing these. That will be a big decider for me if I am in for more than one.
TL:DR It's completely up to you.

It's live. Printed by Legends. Based on his previously created projects, small chance of this funding. But not a bad deck.

I think I read that tier right. An uncut sheet and a deck for like $21 with free shipping in the US. I don't know how he's going to pull that off with the given budget. I'm going to have to wait and see what's what for a while before I pledge. It just doesn't make sense to me.

The design is interesting, and overall I have no issues with it. However, I'm not sure if his estimated delivery date is reasonable with it being Legends, and the tuck itself having the numbering probably won't work out.

Like joeblow has mentioned, this project probably won't make it, but like Fes, I'll wait and see. I'm interested, but I'm not in any hurry to jump in.

I would be careful of the border design you are using. You have multiple elements the if and when the registration is off the back will be off. (Yes I know Legends is printing it) I try to never have more than one border element that is registration dependent, this designe has more than three.

I think because certain designers think its EPCC/LPCC, they can really push the border design to the limits because they expect "perfect" registration. Though they're still much better than USPCC with their registration, I'm beginning to see decks that are off-centered from EPCC/LPCC lately. My guess is that as EPCC/LPCC gets bigger and busier, their quality control may suffer a bit as they start getting backed up with the increased volume of work and try to push out their decks as fast as they can.

.... and cancelled

"This project will cancel funding due to the fact that there is no progression and I have other plans for other projects.

Please understand that I am launching all these projects hoping that 1 will succeed.

Many will say that take 8 to 10 months on one deck. Who has time for that. I put in hours of my time designing these decks of cards with passion.

Thankyou for understanding"

Honestly, he should stop designing decks. People pour their heart and soul into a deck for a reason. When they dont have time for designing decks, i dont have extra money to support them.

Ridiculous, he launched the first with LPCC printing, cancelled the very next day, the day after that relaunched with MPC printing, and 2 days later cancelled again. Why would anyone back his projects when 7 out of 8 have been cancelled within days of launching? If he can't stay committed to a project why would backers want to commit? That is the biggest problem here. A creator needs to stay committed to his concept and not just give up within a couple of days.

If he's not careful, one of his projects might actually get funded before he can cancel it. Then he will have to follow through on actually producing it. That would be a fun train wreck to watch.

Really, why take 8 -10 months when you can whip up a wicked awesome design in just "hours"? Maybe he should design a deck with an "attention deficit disorder" theme since it would seem that he has intimate knowledge of the condition. Which actually would be pretty cool, now that I think about it.

He's already launched another project, with 4 new decks, his 10th project now. And predictions how long before it gets cancelled?

It is very difficult to take this guy seriously. If he does fund, given his current track record of cancellations, I don't think I could trust him to fulfill.

I sent him a message on KS. On the off chance he shows up 'round these parts, please be kind. This a 15 year old boy who is trying... something. It's important to support and guide the youths!
Hey Jason,

I really appreciate that you are a kid with a dream, and your tenacity could take you a long way. I think it's time that you re-evaluate your approach to launching kickstarter campaigns. Campaign after campaign is cancelled within days, relaunched, cancelled, new design a few weeks later. This leaves you with no backer confidence, and only hinders your chances of getting funded.

At the bottom line of every playing card KS campaign is solid deck design. A quality design is the MOST important part of your project. Despite being ridiculed on the forums (viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7891" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) , these people would be more than happy to help improve all aspects of your deck(s). I would highly recommend getting an account there and subjecting your work to critique. Because honesty, you're close. You have had some decent designs. There is a lot of potential. But you need to revisit your approach. Forget "Ideal Playing Cards". The brand has a bad image, and no products to offer. Focus on creating a quality product, and develop the brand based on that.

Again, I suggest reaching out to the playing card commuity, United Cardists has a bunch of really nice people. I sincerely wish you the best of luck,

Ben

Ill take under if you don't mind. :ugking:

But honestly, if he comes around with a decent attitude (and decent illustration skills), we could turn things around. Just look at 52 ravens, from well ok to their stunning work now.

HOLD ON, we are talking about 2 different worlds, light years far from each other.

A 15 years old cocky kid with no skills (which is also normal, he is 15).
VS
A very good illustrator and graphic designer from UK.

The attitude is important. Credibility is also important.
I will not put my money in the hand of a 15 years old kid running his inconsistent kickstarter campaigns (how many so far? 12? all canceled?). It´s just matter of common sense.

Don't get me wong, I am by no means suggesting that you back any of his projects, I just think it's better to offer someone advise instead of laughing and griping about them behind their backs.
